hi pipster1, i took this AU long today but it failed. I wonder if it's my luck or just wrong entry. Appreciate your advice. tq

hi imfreed.

i will share my thoughts on your trade

for me the trend is down on the AU. therefor i would only look for short opportunities.
and you can exspect a pullback into the grey level after the big move down, and then look for a entry trigger short.
or wait till it's in the grey level on the down site and then look for entry triggers long.

so for me the location was not perfect and i would go with the trend not against it

Nice trade...pattern in a good are for a short. Be careful with open positions close to the ECB announcement Could see a big gap after news.

Missed most of the fun today. But managed this UJ short after the US session. Normally not a great time to trade. But noticed there was still significant carry over volume from the ECB fireworks earlier in the day.

Trade was a bit risky but loved the topping pattern on the tick chart and the RR looked good.

The other factor was the dollar was experiencing weakness across all pairs before the entry triggered.

I generally go 2 spikes back...on this one because I am using the tick chart, it was 118.650ish

next one i took
3 point turn from the yellow box.

i draw the yellow box because the grey one was gone at the time i looked at the chart.
left some pips on the table at my first trade, but the second one was spot on

Took about 6 Break even trades over the last few days. That with internet problems has made it a sparse week.

But this make things a little better. EU and GU short.

just want to tell you im a big fan of your journal due to its simpliciy and absence of indicators. is possible to share how do you set up your chart?

im using heiken ashi too but my bar sizes are not as uniform as yours.

will share my trades in the future too.

Woot:

The charts I use are self adjusting based on the speed of the market, but you can increase/decrease the bar sizes manually to reflect your preference

here is a video on the set-up. I use mean renko and tick charts
