[quote=Tesoro;7971420]Zoopots: Those hedge positions have been my concern from the beginning. Here is a sample. Do you get those in strategy 8?
Yes, we get hedge positions in DAT8 as well...all the Strategies get hedge positions...it's one of the tenants of the DAT software. My point in Post 254 was that DAT9 has a very large number of hedge deals that open and close very rapidly compared to other Strategies. My guess is that these hedges are tied to a more rapidly changing indicator (Renko bar on a very small time frame?...see pic below) as compared to other, less aggressive Strategies. The number of hedge positions are likely tied not only to which Strategy you choose, but also to your risk tolerance (Low, Moderate or Aggressive).
I don't personally have any problem with the software placing hedge trades...in fact, it's one of the reasons I elected to purchase the 4X-DAT. Once the idiots in Congress forced FIFO down our throats, we can't manually hedge our own trades anymore unless you're willing to use different accounts and/or different brokers to "hide" one set of trades from another or live outside the USA.
