Hi my friend,

OK, you do see 5 volume profiles

they are synchronized to my Murrey Math, that basically means the volume profiles look back 32 periods

look at the top of each chart and you can see how long each date back.


The very basic use of the volume profiles is to identify zones of high volume (ultra high volume zones) and low-volume zones (or like I say: no-business zones).

Both of them often times serf as S/R-zones


The volume profiles work best in consolidating phases.

In strong directional movements we can get a hint, if price is running from one distributing pattern away in order to establish a new one higher or lower.

I have calculated for each volume profile the Gaussian curve. And the standard deviations (SD). It would work best, when the underlying volume profile would also show this ideal Gaussian shape. But oftentimes we do not see that.

But we can put this aside, and assume, that all we see is Gaussian like. So when price reaches the plus or minus 2 SD area, we have a high chance for a reversal.

We can simply play that, and money management has to account for the risk that price will run further.

When price reaches or oversteps the 3 SD area, chance gets very very high, that price is trending. In this case it may be more wise to look for S/R levels in the volume profile, where we can enter in the direction of trend.


Since we have volume profiles for all TF's, we can compare the volume in the different TF's and make judgements


The best profiles for short term trading are the 5.3 day (4h TF) and 32 day (daily TF) profiles


You can combine the volume profiles with S/R-zones in the charts.



What means Murrey Math synchronized:

In Murrey Math we use a lookback period, in which we are looking for the high and low in order to calculate the Octave (Murrey Math trading lines)

I use a lookback period of 32


example:

4h TF x 32 = 5.3 days of data

daily TF x 32 = 32 days of data

Look at the placed fib-retracement tool. It would call for a low around 1695

Hm EU in structurally bad position for me, i cant see any clear direction. Damn, was hoping for some decent profits today, hope to see situation changed.

On the surface, the December jobs report was good, with 252K jobs added, higher than the 240K expected, leading to a fresh cycle low unemployment rate of 5.6%, down from 5.8% and below the 5.7% expected, and with the November data revised to a whopping 353K from 321K, a net change of 50K including the October revision. However it was the average hourly earnings where the real details were hid, and it was here that Wall Street was expecting a 0.2% increase. Intead the BLS reported a whoppping 0.2% decline in average hourly earnings, with the last month's 0.4% jump revised lower by half to 0.2%.
