Ouch... this topic gives me a headache!! As a few others tried to explain, you can't compare quotes from one broker with quotes from another. If broker A has a wider spread that broker B, broker A's bid will always be lower than broker B and their ask will always be higher.

Also, as someone tried to explain, charts (from all brokers) are based on the bid price (unless you change the settings). If you are short, your stop will be based on the ask price.

I hope this helps without confusing matters more?

what is wrong with candle data at FXCM trading station, in my screen all the data between 15/12/2014 - 01/01/2015 seems to compressed into one candle.

Could you please fix these? I've tried to post this problem in dailyfx forum, but it keep bouncing me off.

When will the mispricings on MT4 charts be fixed? It's the only thing that keeps me from opening a new account.

CMC were little devels for "requotes" many a time I thought I was in a trade but on another part of the screen away from the order ticket a requote would come up and as was intently observing other things would fail to notice that I was not in/out . I have gone to one click trading to try to overcome it but one tick trading works well with go markets but for some reason FXCM just does not have the hang of it. I have always avoided one click as a mistrade could easily occur it just does not matter now as mistrades are the order of the day. Thanks again

Frequent "Invalid prices" errors of the kind you describe suggest that the issue could be latency between your computer and the trading server for your account which is located in the US. Your forum profile mentions that you live in New Zealand. Consider using a Virtual Private Server (VPS) to reduce the latency between your MT4 terminal and the corresponding MT4 server. That should also resolve the problems you faced using one-click trading.

Hi everybody. Just wondering if other people notice a difference between the price on the MT4 chart and the price on the New Order? For example on eur/usd the price on the chart will show 1.19451 but when you look at the Sell price on the New Order it will always be 1.1 pips higher (1.19462). This is NOT the difference in spread. There should not be a difference between mt4 chart price and the sell price on the new order form, only the buy price should be different because of the spread. Anybody have the same problem? Also this is for Jason Rogers, my account can only log into USDReal07. Anytime I try USDReal1 or 2,3,4,5 it tells my invalid account or common error. Curious to why I am restricted to USDReal07?

Your forum profile mentions that you live in the US. That means orders placed on your account must comply with FIFO (first-in, first-out) regulations. I shared your post with one of my colleagues in our tech support team and this is what he said:

"Most likely the EA is not following US rules. My guess is that the problem is with the way it modifies stops/limits. “Too many requests” usually happens when an EA requests to modify an order, then sends another request to modify the same order before the first request is completed. Either 1. It is trying to modify the stop/limit with each tick or 2. It opens multiple positions and tries to set a stop/limit for each one and US MT4 clients will have only net stops/limits. The EA set’s a stop on order A, sets a different stop on order B, then realizes it has the wrong stop on A so it changes it back, then realizes it has the wrong stop on B and changes it back and just gets stuck in a loop."

Trading was indeed closed for the New Year's holiday as well as on Christmas, since banks around the world are closed on these days. I mentioned our holiday hours in this earlier post, and they were also listed on our website in December.

FXCM US is regulated by the CFTC and NFA which are US bodies. By contrast, FXCM UK is regulated by the FCA which is a UK body. Your forum profile mentions that you live in Sweden. That means you can choose to trade through either FXCM US or FXCM UK. Most non-US clients of FXCM opt to trade through FXCM UK, because it allows you to trade oil, metals and indices in addition to forex: http://bit.ly/14sApH0

Hi Gajebo,

Please follow the steps below to restore your chart data.

  1. Close your Trading Station platform if it's open.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Candleworks\FXTS2\QuoteStorage
  3. Delete the History folder.
  4. Open Trading Station and your Marketscope charts.


Please let me know if that works for you.

it works for some pair, but for eurusd and eurjpy (the pair which I watched) the candle still stop missing the data from 15/12/2014 - 01/01/2015.

jason is it possible I am getting this invalad price shit because the spread is 0 see the screen shot I sent and just now shorting AJ same when the spread widened hey presto it went through I have not observed this enough to know and dont want to

I too have some very large gaps on the higher timeframes on all of my charts. When I go down to the 30-minute or lower frames the gaps are gone and all the data is there. But as soon as I go to the hourly or higher I have these large gaps. On my EUR/GBP daily chart there is a gap that goes all the way back the 16th of December. I talked to someone a couple of days ago about it aapnd they said that all the Marketscope charts were having the same problem of these strange gaps but that they would be fixed in less than 24 hours. However it's been more than 48 hours now and I'd love to get back to analyzing my charts but I can't really get started until this is fixed.

I tried deleting the history folder in the canleworks folder as you suggested earlier but to no avail. Do you any idea how much longer it will take before they fix this issue? Thanks in advance

Edit: Sorry, I just saw that many charts are indeed now fixed after deleting the history folder but my main pair EUR/USD still has the large gap

Happy new year!

I have read good reviews on FXCM and thus would like to open an account, however as an Indian national residing outside of India, I am told(by an FXCM official) of the below options to trade with FXCM:
1) Use FXCM UK(http://www.fxcm.com/uk/open-account/): It was mentioned I cannot get raw spread + commission model. Only spread with markup model no matter how much I deposit
2) Use the un-regulated FXCM Markets(http://www.fxcm.com/markets/open-account/): Deposit<5000 USD - spread markup model, Deposit>5000 USD - raw spread+commission model.

Would you be able to advice why cant I open account under the UK subsidiary to get a raw spread+commission model? (I did not get any reasoning so far thus this post here)

Thanks for your responses. Our technical support team has identified the solution to restore your missing chart data, but they will have to wait until after trading closes this Friday at 5pm to implement this fix. You should see all data restored when trading re-opens on Sunday.
