Holiday greetings..it's a snowy day where I live and we don't get much snow.. since things are slow I thought I'd ask opinions on any nuances anyone sees between the 15 min and 1 hour system. My success rate is much higher on 1 hr..perhaps because more experience and more comfortable with it.
Second thing..my new year's resolution for trading..I'm going to ramp up my trading discipline and strict rule adherence. When I do udine's plan and follow it I'm at 80%. I have this horrid weakness for wanting to trade news events and small reversals..and when I do I often lose. It's been a problem for me the last 3 months. I need to be happy just trading udine's simple scalps and work on some discipline and sound trading psychology. It's kind of like in sports when the coach preaches mastering the fundamentals and the player just wants to "hot dog" and do trick plays...strict rule adherence is dull but it works..

The main question should be. Why you do want to trade news and other stuff... Wanting earn more ? Not that difficult. Increase 2% to 3%. With 80% and compounding you are done. Wanting adrenaline ? Well thats another story...trading is not a good place to look for it.

Hi Udine

I like the simplicity of everything about your trading system, but the R:R is a disaster waiting to happen (imo ) 2 losers and you have to make 4 wins to BE !

I understand trading is as much about probability than anything else, but its also random, so you have as much chance of winning as you have losing.

You are effectively trading a 1 Hour system, so why such tight targets? there's no perfect way I know, but you have to be red hot at winning with this R:R.

Clearly you get it right a lot (respect due for sure) but has this always been your approach?

Thanks

Thanks for the response, will check it out further as I understand there's no perfect way to trade and if its working for you then who am I to say if its right or wrong, its only my opinion and I'm all for expanding/ changing the way I think about trading.

However if you stop trading on any given day after 4 losers at say 1% risk per trade then your 4% down, so if your gain is 0.5% when you win then you have to win 8 times to get back to break even, just highlighting the maths, that's all.
