Sorry, but I'm not here to share the formula directly. However, you can learn to analyze how some specific candle formed. First, try to define pin bars and how they are formed.

updated version of my indicator (third formula) for H4 TF

So far, the most accurate one is signal from red arrows. I've checked the chart manually from January 2010 to Today. It's never give false signals within those 4 years periode. But I think something is wrong in my code, because I never see BUY signal from those red arrows, even one.

UPDATE : I don't know why but the sub-formula for red arrows above doesn't work for H1.

Firstly, I checked June 18th - December 2014, didn't see any false signal (which is weird, I think). Then I checked for longer periode, yet still didn't see any false signals.

i meant for development, not for testing. What date-range did you use to create your code? I.E. what date-range did you look through for signals to created the code to fit these instances? I hope you know what i mean.

My third formula looks for strong reversal signal only, and it's all based on OHLC of previous several candlesticks.

Seems like I still do not understand your question, but here is what I did :

  1. See every reversal patterns
  2. Analyze candle characteristics for every turning point (reversal)
  3. Make if-else conditions
  4. Add filters one by one by seeing several previous candlesticks

I hope that helps.

I'm well aware of the methodology of system-building. My Question regards your 4th Point: How far did you look back to "Add filters one by one by seeing several previous candlesticks". It's an important data-point to evaluate robustness..

I check 5 candlesticks only. So, if these 5 candlesticks match the criteria, I'll show BUY/SELL arrow.

UPDATE : sorry, I checked my code again and it's only 4 candlesticks, not 5!

I'm trying to clarify what i'm trying to get to one more time, in a more detailed way:

1) Whilst you build your system, you are naturally taking historical Data to look for reversal signals, right?
2) And on the basis of these signals (which appeared during a defined time-horizon, which you chose to use, say 2014-1-1 - today) you build your system around it, to catch similar moves in the future.I hope you can follow me thus far.

Now the question is: What time-horizon did you use for building the system (say 2014-1-1 - today, or anything similar)?
In other words: what portion of your back-testing is out-of-sample? Can you follow me?
