The last 2 days (2 daily candles) on the chart I posted look like a daily reversal pattern to me. Anybody know a name for that 2 bar pattern? It's not really an engulfing (first bar wick goes to low for engulfing). However, I view it as a strong bullish signal, and whenever I've seen these patterns before on a daily chart, and on a retrace of an uptrend, they are pretty reliable, and not prone to much of a retrace. But again, this is relatively speaking, since daily chart would mean a much wider SL. Trade safely!
Just add them together and you will see a big hammer like the weekly just posted.

ikdenk that's a beautiful " perfect bounce when put in context of the weekly.... I have seen people talk about hammers before not entirely sure what they are but looking at the weekly I am assuming they are maybe like a pin bar ie a high test or low test where the high or low was rejected.....??

See what the unemployment figures say.

Put a tight SL on last night and hit that. It doesn't look like bulls want to give this up. Forming nice support.

For me a waiting game.

This is after all a bull thread

I guess we wont see moves until BoJ statement. No doubt Koroda will look to do something dodgy again!

Currently Short on EU - that is about it.

Hows everyones trading going?

This looks like a morning star! I stayed short through the night and just closed out with a 9 pip loss. I'm long again. Charts are looking way too bullish

Good thanks was short EUR as well but just closed it a few mins ago watched it go down nicely this morning and then bounced back up so took profit when it dropped again was almost at my target anyway.....

In long from 118.6 it has felt a little like a bumpy ride this morning in the yen but seems to have formed support around 118.4 stop is below that target 118.95 thought I'd rather get a few pips than wait for it to break the resistance at 119...

As Dbutton said I do think the chart is looking bullish but had a great day yesterday and would rather be cautious and protect that profit while increasing it a little....
Unemployment figures should start it moving again one way or another......

I am out of UJ for now. No clear direction.

Wait until BoJ comes and makes their decision on printing. Although me and Riz were discussing this last night and there are articles on BoJ rejecting printing in Jan.

So possibly could retest lower levels before heading up. Personally this consolidation reminds me of when it dropped from 121 lol. Staying WELL away from it until it does something.

Overall looks like this will be driven by the fundamentals though.

I took profit too on EU too, good move IMO Personally I think that will jump up as Draghi seems like he is doing QE in Jan... So once again drive all those shorts out the market before dropping back down.

Now no open trades at the moment.

Best thing is we are all still here and can look forward to a good 2015!

I took a small loss on this too last night, itchy fingers! sometimes I need to have the patience to leave things alone.

I am in the middle of quantifying some bits on my journal so this forum is the only way I can rationalise.

It happens my friend! UJ looking like it will breakout bullish soon. Targets for today anyone? I have 119.50, 119.91, and then 120.00 for now. These are based off the past highs on the one hour

119.50 looks sensible if this goes up. Then again could reach 120 if everything plays out well for bulls!
