A salutory lesson in money management

I now have an email saying they are processing payment back to me.
We shall see.

Although having just said that the account is still open and showing the full balance, Hmmm,

Dude where did you find this name anyway? couldn't you pick a more reputable name?

If you mean Gizzledonk, it's the name of the very small troll than lives under the crypt in the village church, he's only about the size of my 8 year old (who invented him) and he get's lonely because the other trolls think he's weird for being so small.
And, by the way, all trolls have strange names, it's cultural.

But back to the saga of SunbirdFX,


Who thinks they were really processing the payment back to me? go on, have a guess,,,


Here's the mail they sent me claiming they were,,

Two points about that one,

First - the only new detail they got was my IBAN number which they could have looked up themselves.

Second - everything I have posted on this and similar threads and reviews (with the possible exception of the origins of the name Gizzzledonk) is absolutely true and accurate and very carefully done exactly so that there is no excuse for any moderator anywhere to tear it down,
It is all polite, honest, accurate and very reasonable and I can back up anything which is challenged. although they haven't done that of course.

Later yesterday I received the next one which I think implies that the payment is complete.

What I find most odd though is the fact that the account is still open and I could open a trade if I wanted (as of five minutes ago at least)
I have no confirmation of any transaction - I will post immediately in the unlikely event that happens -
And basically I wouldn't believe them if they told me it was cold in Antarctica.

I'll post the next exciting instalment as soon as it develops,
right now though I'm going to have a look and see if there are any trades brewing anywhere.

lol no I meant the broker...so many popular names..why pick SunbirdFX?

Simply because I was a complete noob, 'didn't know any better, and they were offering a bonus.

thats a great way of choosing broker.

Their e-mails have very poor grammar and written in the most unprofessional way...
Whenever a forex broker is asking for a card scan or print, you should always blur the css code on the back of the card and the first 12 numbers on the front, leaving only the last 4 unblurred.
Most brokers will give a small bonus for traders but everything that sounds too good must also raise a question..

You're completely right, In this case they didn't ask for the css code and I wouldn't have given it to them if they had.
The bonus offered was quite small and like a lot of other intro bonuses, 'problem is, I think, most noobs don't really know what is 'looking too good to be true,' and what is normal. At the time this broker looked like quite a few others and like most noobs I was keen to get in there and earn my first couple of million. (not there yet, but am closer than I was.)

Well, it's Monday morning,

There is no remittance advice, no funds and no other indication that SunbirdFX have done what they said.

The account is still open although most of the money has disappeared from it now.

Here's a tip for you while we're waiting,

One way of getting a companies attention when they disrespect you is to start emailing really senior people in the company, this isn't as hard as you might think,

First find the format they use for individual mail addresses in the company; it will usually be something like for example - [email protected] or [email protected] or one of a few other standard formats, if you have any emails from people in the company you will see the format already.

Next Google for company information, you'll normally come up with the names of the directors and other top people who you can then mail directly, you might have to try a few variations on the theme but this usually works out well enough.

If you also tell your mail client to ask for delivery and read receipts you'll quickly work which one's get through.

Remember you get a far better response if you're not abusive and you keep to the point, no matter how angry you're getting with them.

Create an email with your complaint carefully set out and then list all the email addresses you've found in the 'to' box.

most mail clients will allow you to 'save as' a .eml or a .msg file (or other proprietory file type) onto your desktop, you can then double click this file on your desktop every time you want to update and resend the mail.

I got all my money back at the beginning of January, it was returned to the card they said they couldn't return it to.

I still can't make up my mind what this company thinks it's up to, in my view if they were just scamming then they would go to some trouble to ensure that they presented themselves in a credible fashion.

Actually, thinking about it, I don't really care. 'All's well that ends well'.
