I use SMA 100 to detect main trend and never trade against main trend. Second Indi is ALF-indicator to trigger possible entry when Renko-candle closes above/below after crossing ALF. Crossed bar must be 1st or 2nd after Renko-bar color change. Must be confirmed by closed Nihilist-Ultra-Trend bar.(Nihilist repaints unfinished bars -so wait for new bar). Renko ist 5 Bricks loaded from 5min source chart.

I'm trying to have same charts... but (and it's always the same ) my ones are always quite different from other posted here with same set...
Look at this for exe we have different candles... So my question is why? Broker? expert?

I think you might be wrong about the repainting of this indicator. According the with the creator of that indicator it repaints the past wich means that even after the candle is closed it repaints.

The basic principles that he (jjrvat) uses is a wave analysis, this is not Elliott wave, it is based on Higher High Lower Low etc and the emphasis is the order of importance of the analysis, this ends in the putting together of a Price Based Plan that you follow prior to entering any trade. This type of trading fits Jaquemate's method extremely well, infact jjrvat's philosophy is very similar in that he does not see the need for any additional indicators, I still cling to my comfort blanket, Stochastics, we have been together 8 years and for me serves a purpose.

I always thought that renko is independent from time...I thought it is only price sensitive and not time sensitive...Thanks...

Renko will change (Repaint) every time you refresh or reload your charts or change the time frame of the control chart. You are changing the parameters therefore changing the renko set-up. Takes a while to get used to but that's how renko's work. Currently experimenting with Daily control chart. Looks good & works well with CCI set to 10.

It changes slightly as the default setting on renko is close of chosen timeframe candle. The renko bar will only show once a candle in your chosen timeframe has closed.

Hi AMFX, OP and others. I really like this thread but having real problems understanding how RENKO works on MT4.
Until now I have always used NinjaTrader (NT), in the past I have never really got on with MT and as I have some C# knowledge thought NT better for me.
However MT certainly has a greater number of EA available so thought I would try it again given the EA/Indis on here.
With NT, RENKO is not selected on a timeframe and shows a true representation on every brick and in turn ovelayed with HeikenAshi looks great.
I have managed, at least to get RENKO working on MT4 but the results do not look the same (not saying they dont work) if any one can and would care to help explain would really appreciate it.
