{quote} LOL, I know but for some reason Ming persists in staying put at FF..despite thinking it is all fantasy. Guess to each his own, huh..

yeah he has some funny interesting comments however those are negative so I'm not a fan

FX game offers us to make huge profit in % meaning we can start with very small account. It's the devils game so take it or leave it.

Ming is also saying that it's a fact that most likely you will loose money long term which sounds realistic so don't treat it as work or something you have to do (trade) often.....so just wait wait wait make those huge % of money, withdraw profits and repeat.

That way it's very likely you will make much more money before you loose the original deposit. And because the original deposit is small anyway you don't have to worry so much about the gangsta broker you are trading with.
It's a game.

LOL, what can I say..and as for why ming wants to stay put, guess he has his own reasons but got to admit it is rather strange that ming would want to stick around here at FF while holding those views..kind of like an anti fx trader..if such a term can be coined..

EA only. No choice... I'm C# developer, in the end, whatever road I take, finally I had to open books about C++, wrote my own EA.

this is the beauty of forex trading, the possibilities are limitless, and the flexibility is awesome. yes its doable.

Yes, you both are correct, it is doable. But just imagine that a people like bosses, IT guy (especially in asian), security worker, public service worker, can they do trading? Yes they can, only thing is they have to throw out their sleep time. No sleep, no good for health, you'll be sick quickly, sick means money wasted again . I wouldn't do that. Be realistic, that some people like to do trading, but not all people can spare, even 1 hour or 2 hours daily to do trading. It's because of the workloads, timezones, all the stuff that avoiding you to do trading.

So, final solution applied for me is simple, find simple strategy, automate it, test it for more than 6 months, no b***s**t, no ambition, no huge but small profits, start again, repeat. Once I feel the profit is stable and proven for 1 - 2 years, then I can start relying on this method... all takes time, no instant solution.

Finally, if it is stable, then you can start relying your life to it, seriously... Most people will say, that is not possible in forex trading, but if you got stable profit even though they are very small (say 5%), you can rely on it. Compared to huge one, say 1000%, but the next few trades jumped into -1000%...

FFs Ming seems harmless enough and isn't trying to take over the universe
maybe he works for a broker and speaks the truth as a warning (i dunno)
but if it helps a few newbies to think twice and or to learn a bit more before sending all their cash over to the broker
it can't be a bad thing,
and at least he's not trying to scam anyone

as for working (for a boss) and also trading i would n't get much trading done,
some jobs you just could n't do both or if not concentrating on one you could be fired from one, or both
and the best and safest trades are usually in the normal working day
unless you trade the longer trends which is nt always as easy as its made out to be,
maybe there's a happy medium somewhere

Ming may give us some statistics or whatever but if someone is so stupid to put all his/hers money on a broker account without a strategy that is working at lest on a demo well than that person is a bit stupid

the thing is that world is as it is and if you don't like something you have to first learn to like it. when you learn to like it you learn to understand why you actually didnt like it first. thats what most people wont do so they never get on the next level. makes sense?

being clinical/negative just doesn't help anywhere in life
It's a game.

back to the topic....

you have to WORK only on 2 things in trading:

-emotional control, inner game etc...wanting the money too bad, low self worth, taking it personally...that all won't help

-creating a system that suits your personality - swing trading/daytrading etc

that's it.
It's a game.

Yeah, I know, thats my point - unless you can code your own ea, it does not make any sense to trust a third party app with your money. Good luck..

I recently quit my day job after working out that 15 pips per day replaces my salary and I can work from home. This is going to be my first month relying on my trades only... so my fingers are crossed.

Hello, Im new to the FF and would like to wish happy new year to everyone ( a little late but still... ).

Now I would like to ask about forex trading in general. I have read through babypips.com school and now Im going through tradimo.com school.

Lately I have been reading FF forums and I see so many people just losing money and beeing quite negative about all that. I am actually planing to learn forex and trade for living and make this my future. Now reading all that negativity here makes me a little scared on the inside. Dont know how to explain, but beeing planning on making forex trading my future and all, and now reading this...

I was also thinking about building couple of websites to earn money off but I kinda said that I would like to only focus on forex trading, so...

Can you people please give me some suggestions?

i think do both just fine; do the trade as investment, with a few pip target per target is just fine.

Just imagine emotional load which comes with quitting your job and relying only on forex as your main source of the income :/ I'm not saying this, but it is possible his performance may be impeded by this..

The most important thing is the time you spend learning the market, developing your trading strategies and polishing it. Also, you work because you need the money. Don't illude yourself thinking that you can just abandon your work and gain a salary from the market. It is just not what the market is made for.

Yes, I hear you. A valid questions, but I think with a little pre-emptive planning and flexibility one should be able to trade during business honors and stay on top of their job. I mean we all gotta start somewhere, right?

Hi, great thread here!

I work a job full time that has good pay and I actually really enjoy. I also trade fundamentals of forex, well sentiment and fundamentals based on the news. I trade successfully just at certain parts of the day and it's a great second source of income. I don't plan to leave my job at all...
