I'll be the first to admit I don't thoroughly understand off line charts and renko. But can someone explain why these charts are so 'OFF'. I know one is 5min and the off line renko is 2min. but why the big discrepancy? the renko is still at 18:00hrs while the live chart is at 03.45. the market has moved way more then 5pips since then

Jaquemate, you explanation is clear here, but there is a big problem... the short entry you envision is part of that short D1 candle you started you analisys with. So, by that time there was still no D1 confirmation. Do you get what I'm saying?

Pobably you need that D1 close before looking for a short trade. So this analisys and setup is not valid as far as I get it.

What are your thoughts?

kraven - with respect it's clear you don't understand renko charts when you refer to it as a 2 minute chart since renko is not time based. M2 does not mean 2 minute.

good morning,

I have traded quite some renko in the past and when I read this thread, I thought to throw up a chart yesterday..

Set the chart up with:

median renko 10 (50 % (thx Kiads)), CCI (14) and HA

the bottom indi is just a visual of the CCI and HA

looks very nice and clean.

entries divided in two parts:
part 1: tp @ 5 pips (to cover the commissions, in case the trade turns after 5 pips on me)
part 2: let it run, with SL set to BE @ 5 pips

Did only one trade yesterday on the EU... nice stressfree winner ( +5 / +22 pips)

Will follow this a little more

just now an EJ short.. (+5 / +14 pips)

At the moment I only look at the EU and EJ to do some testing..

Hi Clive:

May be this can help you. In Daily charts i dont see a clear trend. For me a triangle is forming and today is a bearish day.
But if you go to weekly chart long trend is down now.
May be a good option is to close 1/2 position to 59 (now) and leave the other until 58 or 57. Probe it.

Appreciate your help, I'm happy to hold at the moment as the sellers are clearly in charge right now with lower drive after lower drive so until I see a failed drive I'm happy to hold, of course big problem with EURNZD is it can reverse so quickly...

Got a target in mind for this move but of course the market doesn't care two hoots what I think, just have to see how it goes...

So far so good...

We could have an interesting entry in the EUR/AUD but the problem is that it's not according with the main trends.

D1 is really flat. H1 is going up. M15 starting going down.

Anyway this is the renko chart as I have it, again, a little bit risky entry but I found it interesting too.

Edit: Finally the price went really really really high so I quit it from my list of possible (risky )trades hahaha. Anyway, I don't get the entry signal in any moment so, perfect ^^

Do you realize that the color of the HA is always the same as a renko bar? So if you decide on HA color change you can drop the HA.

Hi Anusragger,

that is not correct, there are slight differences..
Edit: maybe that is because I use median renko... so might be wrong here...

as you can see on my EU chart.. that was the reason I entered..

That's if you use wicks I think. But Kiads confirmed that the wicks repaint. Not that this matters for live trading...

New possible pair to trade today. The AUD/USD.

It has started the morning up, disaccording to the main trends, but now the things have changed. Maybe another down and down day like yesterday and the price just have wait a few hours to continue the downtrend?

We will see, for now this is the chart.

Quick update didn't do too well with the first move down after being up about 35 pips it eventually came back and took me out at BE. Should of closed out soon as my first green candle on renko got taken out for about 25 pips. To add insult to injury foolishly tried to add and lost 10 pips trying... Thats about as sad as it gets a winner turns into a loser.

I find this with trading soon as I start to target a level or think I know where its going I lose out. Best to just trade the price action in front of your nose and be done with it....just accept the results..

However was an obvious reversal so bought next pullback and lesson learnt soon as I had a red candle closed it for about 30ish pips...so positive for the morning up 21.7 pips but could of been so much better, all part of the learning curve..

I think the thing is to close out soon as you get a reverse coloured candle taken out, trail stops down above/below first counter trend candle.

just my thoughts....

It may be funny how all this threads pretending to present very simple stuff are actually simple only in post #1 and then page after page become over complicated with dozen of indicators and all kind of situational filters and analysis, did you notice that? at that point those aren't simple anymore I'm sorry
