I'm wondering what the fastest method is of gaining news figures, ie. in seconds rather than a 1 minute or 2 such as on FF calendar

or use twitter and tweetdeck - you get news about 5 secs behind what is on bloomberg if you follow the right people

EVERY pro out there uses twitter so am surprised few retailers use it

Good to know. Do you know some names that we should follow? But for publications like today's FOMC minutes though, you still have to wait until it's actually published on the website and today, it was 4 minutes after the scheduled time. Do you actually get it quicker from twitter for those publications as well if you follow the right people?

usually someone will post the # within 2-5 sec. as for fomc minutes etc, rate decision etc, the fed's website updates at the same time bberg gets it. there is a whole process to make sure news media doesnt leak information first.

I remember one time, fomc rate decision was like 10 mins late. For that CNBC etc are good source to watch. they have the decision right away there as well.

Wow thanks for the info. Really nice of you to share. Glad that everybody gets the publications at exactly the same time. That explains that I didn't see any PA's until about 4 min. into the scheduled release time for FOMC minutes which is about the same time it became available on the Fed's website.

You could get a bloomberg or a reuters terminal but if you're a little red fish in this big ocean like most of us, that won't give you too much advantage. Just follow the sharks.
