Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called a snap election and announced a delay in the second sales tax hike by 18 months after the country fell into recession. The move announced on Tuesday comes after growth numbers on Monday showed the world's third largest economy shrunk by an annualized 1.6 percent in the third quarter after a 7.3 percent contraction in the second quarter, shocking the markets. "I have taken their [experts'] opinions…the need to exit inflation and to ensure Abenomics…is on track…and as a result I have decided not to raise the consumption tax to 10 percent next October and I have ... It is too bad President Obama cannot "dissolve parliament", too. It would really help the USofA if he could simply oust the lying, obstructionist, self-serving Republican minions of the greedy super-rich from both Houses of Congress.

I remember when Representative Boehner cut the deal with President Obama - no tax increase for the rich and we (Republicans) will support the passing of the Affordable Care Act. Once it was a done deal, this lying, deceitful bastard Boehner bragged in an interview that now that there would be no tax increase on the rich, there were still ways to "defeat" the new health plan!

The Republicans, not just Boehner and their Senate circus clown Ted Cruz, but most all of them are nothing but self-serving liars, promoting the agenda of the super-rich that are bleeding the economy of this country bone dry. The name of their game is outrageous pay for CEOs, laws allowing their business to legally steal, tax loopholes for their businesses, tax subsidies for their businesses, and outright no tax to pay at all for their largest businesses, and in the face of all of these entitlements the super-rich have established for themselves, to strip the poor of what little they have! Oh, and to reward well those sonofabitch Republicans in Congress that do their duty for the super-rich, including that Senate circus clown from Texas, Ted Cruz.

As an "aside", it is unbelievable that there are enough stupid Texans to have voted this jerk into the US Senate! Well, in Texas everything is bigger,.....including their stupidity! Never in my life have I seen such a person come into the august House of the US Senate and demonstrate such low class behavior. The Republicans of Texas should be ashamed of themselves. Unfortunately, as Republicans, they have no shame.

I don't know since I get mix messages. One of my friends, an American, says Obama is good. He has nothing to complain. I don't know if he is a democrat or Republican. But he seems to dislike Bush. He is against wars.

He also says US is better today (than what? I don't know). That US economy is getting stronger and stronger. In particular he likes the strength of USD.

I watch Euro, GBP, AUD, and NZD and their crosses. USD? Not interesting atm.

Oh, I got ya bro. We don't want anyone who thinks that he is king. If we had someone like that, it would be trouble. The first thing they would do is spend our tax money on lavish trips for him and his wife, all over the US and corners of the world, while telling us we need to tighten up our belts on spending. He'd play golf more than work, hold nightly concerts in the White House, on the government's dime. Since they have absolute power, they would probably grant amnesty to all those that sneak into the country illegally, including some of his own relatives.

We definitely don't want someone like that in charge. It would be a mess.

I have tons of buddies that have gone into bankruptcy over the last 3 years and we are supposed to be in an "UP" economy. I have a few buddies that were bankrupt that are now doing well with all their real estate and stocks. It's a game and sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes you are the bug.

Somebody is standing behind that curtain and they are twisting dials and pulling levers and making things go a certain way.....I just don't know who that "somebody/they" is.....

I need to go and watch "The Wizard of OZ" again...I use to eat alot of bacon and smoke cigarettes cause the advertisers made me WANT to do it.....Now I know better....

Next time someone asks me what I do for a living I am going to tell them, "I am an elitist"...I don't know who they are, what they do, how they control things or how they have never been exposed....but I want to be one and all you have to do is believe and you can live at 740 Park avenue............

I think everyone forgets... Historically... the Yen is incredibly strong still...

USDJPY high was about 350 in the late 1970's when it began to float... since then its been a one sided carry trade to its all time low... OH btw that same time period saw the same trend in both US and Japan interest rates - AND - here is the kicker - the SAME trend in the RISE of Japanese debt to GDP ratio...

So... seeing all of these things turn from generational levels at the same time isnt a surprise ... get ready for the next 20-30 year cycle for interest rates to rise, debt to GDP levels to fall... and ONLY ONE OUTCOME FOR THE YEN : through either complete and utter turmoil and default OR the gradual depreciation through easing... the Yen will fall
