Hi, there are two common ways in trading. #1: big position in short time #2: small position in long time it depends on your choice, no need to agree or argue
Ignored
I don't think anyone is arguing but it's been mentioned it before - don't forget the power of compounding.

If you consider a big position as 1.0% and a small position of 0.5% then

#1: big position in short time
On a $1000 balance risking 1.0% on 5 pips 8 times means a balance of $1407

#2: small position in long time
On a $1000 balance doing 0.5% on 40 pips once means a balance of $1200

Someone on here mentioned a return rate of about 82% so even if you lost two of the 5 you'd still have a balance of $1209

To put it another way, using #1 you only need 4 wins (20 pips) to get to $1215

I think you summarized this thread very well.
There is a reason why this is found in "Rookie Talk" .

no theres no proper reason for this. When I opened thread - first post wasnt about a system . so admins considered it just a basic talk. However,in reality, it became a system thread.

Another winner with a GJ short 10 pip. Right at this very moment its pretty flat by my chart, I took the trades by the rules, however the hard fact is there was more on the chart in my opinion that caused the move. Anyways it took a whole 15 minutes to get into a profitable trade,,,, I do consider myself an experienced trader for the newer folk trying to figure this out.

Thanks for posting the DIVERGENCE indicator, should help some of those identify divergence and start training their eyes to recognize it so eventually they will not need an indicator to do the job.

nice trades dee, on the divergence note, rsi, macd, roc, these indicators take out the choppiness of the pair so its slower to react, when the price makes a sharp move in the opposite direction of the trend this will create divergence because the rsi or whatever indicator you use will still be showing the trend. any kind of 1,2,3, v bottoms things like this will show divergence immediately very easy to spot could be possible trend change maybe not but its usually good enough for a few pips, unless of course there is news involved which has nothing to do with trend. basically what i'm saying is those indicators just show a difference between a SLOWER moving MA and the price itself, you could do the same thing with say a 60 MA when the price cross from under to over this is divergence. rsi or an automatic divergence indicator looks at longer term trend and when the price goes against it quickly you will have divergence usually pretty strong signals. This can be done with almost any indicator but an engulfing candle when you see is the same as any indicator its very easy to see. This does go against tk as he was saying trade with trend but when you have fast moving candles this is a different situation, i would take the same trade, but new comers will probably do best to stay away from trend changes without experience it gets hairy.
