I am watching the USDJPY with the double top and decreasing MACD. I'll wait until the close of the current candle and sell if it all looks good. SL at last high should be 20-30 pips by the end of the hour so probably set TP at the same.

EU and USDCHF going nicely so far. A big F.U. to the USDJPY and to double tops in general. We'll see if that one makes a move down later after further divergence.

I do use a stealth trade manager EA, so it's either they noticed and are merely coping it with the VTP or it's just a malfunctioning of the EA because since i started trading on the H1 entries I've always shut the Auto Trading tab off so I don't get closed out of a negative position.

I will give the broker Excel markets the benefit of a doubt, but cos I don't expect them doing anything out it going by the last time. In any case my days with them are numbered.

Intrepidpips, I noticed you do not take all divergences...as an example did you take this one? If not, why not? Price closed above ma(white line)

Yes driven that was a valid Divergence you spotted and no I did not take it cos I concentrate more on 1 hour before FO, FO, LO then 1 hour before NYO and NYO
I have a neglected day job distracting me one hand, if we could get a team of traders to watch and alert one another on brewing divergences it would really be awesome.

That divergence failed by the way like some do.

LESSON LEARNED

Until the trading day is ended, we have to remain undaunted by the vagaries of the trading war and keep our focus on the prize that is "where is the next trading opportunity"

The same EU produced a winning Divergence trade afterwards.
It could have been a double whammy, a win on both H1 entry and M1 entry and my M1 entries are with maximum leverage utilization

Sorry for bringing the negative trades, but that is how we learn ..all these shorts failed(white lines)..unless I am missing some other rules..

Thanks for the question D.

Not all divergences are born equal, divergences do not tell us how far the change in bias will last, it only tells us this momentum has peaked or exhausted, price is about to drop or rise.

So some will be winning some will be losing and that brings me to my next post which is Higher probability divergence trades.

REVIEW REVIEW

Basically, we have the Regular and the Hidden Divergence, and I've found the Hidden divergence which is a signal of trend continuation to be a higher probability signal.
So trading off H1 we should therefore favor the Hidden divergence signaling a continuation of either the Daily or H4 trend.

The UJ had been on an uptrend (according to our 2SMA) since 17th Oct, 20th Oct saw a retracement -signaled by a Regular divergence but since 21 the uptrend resumed and the hidden divergence of 21 has yielded 170 pips to date (for a swing trader) with a mere 30 pips SL and you could have added on while trailing or locking up profits.

This does not mean we cannot take a bet on the Regular away from the maim trend, a regular divergence births a new trend most of the time and what starts as a retracement at times becomes the new trend.

So let's discus how we can adapt to the longer term trend and milk this Cash Cow.

Another angle would be to wait for the divergence in line with the daily or H4 trend and go to M1 and wait for a hidden divergence there to follow the trend where it leads.
