thanx heaps MM ..its just since mt4 upgrade on weeken my lappy is freezing ...didnt do it b4 ..they renk one of the indis is not compatable withmt4 711 upgrade ,,, I isolated it to any candle so working without it .. well see what happens cheers Q

Hi Josch,

I have an ECN FX broker to try out this strategy. Would like to move it over to futures soon however, issue is it ultimately limits the available markets as some FX pairs aren't too liquid in CME futures.

Will let you all know how it goes, though I'm sure it'll go far superior given

 

  1. Lower spreads
  2. Lower commissions
  3. More transparent pricing
  4. Market depth and time/sales information
  5. Use of SuperDom for order placement and management (X_Trader or CQG or NinjaTrader SuperDom)
  6. Volume analysis (Market Profile...Volume Profile) with better platforms than MetaTrader
  7. More effective trailing stop
  8. Can be filled at target profit without it going beyond that price
  9. You can trade E-micro FX pairs, for those of you who do not know: I.e. Margin requirements $150 controlling 12,500 euros

Most likely would only trade EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURJPY ---

Will report once fully investigated.

[Note on PC power: I'm trading FX ECN on MT4 on a 2010 macbook with very few issues, though I only load EJ and GJ. I also recommend you all to ping test your brokers server to establish the ms distance for your execution (Mine is 90ms, yikes!)]

I think all these MT4 upgrades are driving us all crazy.... always something needs re-coding or adjusting!

thank you. Beside all mentioned benefits the availability/liquidity of fx futures is a true point.
Nonetheless, if you won't be able to make a business with the majors, why with exotics?
With a broker trading the cash your spread will widen with exotics anyway.

Ok, here we go! Look at the bottom of the chart and you see the time from 3 - 7, while the chart counts 4 candles! The main question now is, how many candles per hour?

How many gigs of RAM ?
It´s the RAM that kills you with 10+ charts open.
Your CPU is OK, you should have a CPU load of max. 35% for your MT4 platform...

Once upgraded, why don´t you just replace the new build "terminal.exe" file with the old one ?
If you´re on one of the 5 brokers I am using and PM me which one you have, I´ll show you the way to do it...
