About BABA IPO, I find strange that the first day of trading is Friday. For some reason I would expect it to be Monday.

Anyways... here is the Option Update from Bloomberg TV... It is a 4 min vid, talk is about VIX, EBAY and YHOO, by that Agrawal guy... He wants to do bull call spread on YHOO, 45/50 for October monthly expiry...

after closing the vertical put spread on apple for a small loss, I'm considering entering the reversal long call spread providing it can close above 100.60

long the 101 call for around $2 and write the $104 for around $1 for a net debit of a $1 and for 26 SEP expiration. Current APPL stock price is $100.59

I can't get the same bid/ask/median from dough, probably because it has delay, because it is a demo... I can get $0.59 credit at median for this, OR $0.70 for the same IC but Sep19 expiry IF get filled at median... Hmmm.... Sep12 options have 120%+ IV, and Sep19 60%+ IV.

good luck on LULU, Stray, if you go there. I'm looking at YHOO still and hoping for a dip under $41 b4 the close, I might do another bull put spread. iv is nudging up on the 9/26 puts.....

Too tired to try to buy/sell each option to get more credit on IC, won't do it for fill at median, and I will skip this, take my dog for a walk, and go to bed early.
Anyways I never traded LULU before, so maybe next time... my gut feeling saying nothing now.

I closed all naked puts on YHOO, Sep26 37 puts for 50% win, and Oct17 37 puts for 40% win, I am leaving the 35/37 Oct17 bullish put spreads and 40/43/46 Oct17 call butterfly. Reason - I will probably not trade at all starting from tomorrow up to Sep22, so taking the "undefined" risk from the table. In selling premium business you have to be patient, know your odds, and that is something I will work on in the future. I want to combine selling premium tactics with debit spreads, and simple long puts or calls positions, adapt to the market. Trade mostly what I learned so far, and slowly learn other stuff, like diagonals, calendars, and so on... So much more is here than trading stocks, IMO... Really exciting.

you seem to be coming along very well, I bet you'll probably be a rich options trader before I will. Boy a getaway sounds like a capital idea. I am taking the whole month of December off, maybe more. Been thinking about going to Australia...summer down under....

I'm feeling more than a mite wary about what next week may bring. Lot's of looming fundie risks. re: YHOO, I'd bet they are trying to hold it down prior to the BABA ipo. I've been looking for another put spread but in nothing yet....

Seems like the new trading year (it begins after Jackson Hole, yo) began with a dominant theme: sell UST's & buy the USD. TLT has made a steady drop since last week $119.43 on 8/29 to $114.83 close today. I'm in a 9/20 $111/$113.5 bear put credit spread, wondering if I will get out ok.

One idea from the vid clip there is that UST rates are going up, and that the equities with strong dividends that have been serving as proxies for UST's may be hurt by the rise in UST rates. MMMMaybe. What are those names, anyway?

GDX 24 call is the trade I'm eyeing up for tomorrows expiration. I'd like the option price to fall to around 6c near closing day, at the moment its trading for 12c
