I high-lighted the CENTER of the BB , 21 setting is what I like to use. The direction of the Bollinger Bands at the time of the ADX expansion is the direction you would trade...........

UPDATE AU M5 - ranging BBS, all ADX but the 144 have turned off.............

The 144 ADX is always hardest to gauge. The move is not that perceptible. In the EU example, the earlier ADX expansion could have been taken for a signal, and if held, for a profit. But there was a whipsaw, and there's nothing to say that price wasn't going to continue upward. This is an M5 chart. It's always easy to read a chart 6 hours after it's printed. Not so much as it's happening in a M5 timeframe. The problem I have is determining which ADX compression and expansion is THE ONE that will pay off. Is there a any kind of range for bbs squeeze that denotes "full compression?"

If you look close at your example, the 144 is still stepping down. Each little segment is going lower.

I agree it looks close, but look for the upward separation of all three adx, you can also look at the lower and upper TF's for support of what you are looking at.

BBS range below 10 or 7 is even better for a compression.......

When the ADX 144 and others are near 3,4 or 5, and they are fixed at 0, is a pretty low compression reading also............

Unfixed isn't a problem when you aren't looking at the ADX values but just at the ADX direction.

But when it comes to compare ADX to each other (ie. for a cross), they must have the same vertical scale ... You need here the same min/max settings. Did you noticed the 2 Alien's pic? The unfixed one has a cross while the fixed one (the real accurate one) hasn't yet.

Thank you for your explanation. I will change the settings to what alien recommends. Min:0 Max :50

if we break the 0.92 support it can be really good =D
