It works the problem was that one have to set the currency in alphabetically order.

Hmm... not sure what you mean. My version works just fine when set in any order.

@Hanover - hi! Thanks for this great looking indicator. Problem is, I cannot get it to work (I am a coder myself) in MT4 build 670 easily. The problem is things like this (on compile);

'char' - unexpected token hanover --- extensible functions.mqh 1173 38
- i.e. it is using "char" which is a build in keyword

'StringReplace' - override system function hanover --- extensible functions.mqh 1297 8
- similar idea, it is trying to replace the built-in stringreplace

None of the 4 files compile for me. Can you help or suggest another good version of MT4? 670 seems poor with mixed up menu's (big bug) etc.

with metaeditor, replace 'char' which is now a built-in reserved word, by 'charr' for example, or anything else its up to you. 'override' might be a warning, not an error i suppose.

@dinofx, thank you. I tried changing the char>char1 but there are too many occurences/other things happening (like char in reserved keywords). With 'override' it's an error, not a warning.

Transfer only the .ex4 file (see post #82).

Or compile using the b509 compiler like fxdaytrader suggests.

Hi Hanover,
Quick question: Why you no longer do MT4 coding? Is that due to new MT4 evolution? (B600+)? Did you left MT4 to another platform? Which one? Which coding language? If it's simply due to "retired , gone fishing" that could be the best answer too...Enjoy your time.

Tomcat,

Yes, the MT4 devolution (B600+) killed it for me. Too much hard work to retrain myself and then recode my exiting EAs and indicators.

I'm still running MT4, but I've given up programming — at least for the meantime.

I'm also working on another forex-related project with a small team. It uses eSignal as its charting platform.

Huh?

In the current indicator, you can already manually edit the Currencies setting to include whatever symbol your broker provides.

Just double click on the setting value and add the new symbol after a comma.
I'm not trying to convince anyone. I'm not in the "convincing" business.

Sorry, I'm no longer doing any more MT4 coding or troubleshooting.

The indicator will probably still run correctly if you compile the code in build 509.

Otherwise, skenobi's is a good solution. If you want to retain the currency settings as a default, you can always save the indicator as part of a template or profile.

The attached version seems to run OK on build 610. It might be worth a try on build 670. It The screenshot was taken using the default settings.

Strange. I'm running 670 as well.

Anyways, I re-downloaded the version I uploaded, ran it, and it works as normal for me.

The following is my chart screenshot:

By "pip moved", I take it you meant Daily Moved from open. That would be the 3rd column (just after Bid Price).

Thank you very much. By "pip moved", I was hoping "Show Tickval" gives me what I'm looking for. I trade the Frankfurt open, and I'm working on the premise if price moves a lot during the Asian session it's likely to be "exhausted" and not move much during the Frankfurt to London open. So I don't want to know the distance from the daily open, but I want to know how far price has travelled up and down since the daily open... From reading the thread I think "Show Tickval" will give me that.

I just realised that this column is:
10 = tick value (i.e. $ value per pip moved, per full lot traded)

Which is not what I'm looking for... I'll start a new thread to see if I can find it.

Maxx,

In the screenshot in post #94, the third column gives the distance from the daily open. For example, from the screenshot, "UJ: 102.43 +17 ...." means that USDJPY is currently 17 pips above the price that it opened at (MT4 daily candle).

However, you're correct in saying that the indicator won't show the greatest number of pips reached above the open, or the greatest number of pips reached below the open, so far today. That's assuming that I understand what you mean.
