Starting this thread just to share my trades in the hopes that people can take something away from it and gain more knowledge. Also to keep track of my personal progess as my trading has improved significantly since learning this method. Feel free to ask any questions about the charts.

how u defind your stop?
what does it meen no demend?
how do u spot your exit?
vsa vs wyckoff r the same method?

For Stop Loss. It depends on the set up but in this case I placed it above the high of the buy climax.

Demand is another word for buying so the low volume represents low buying activity on that up candle. Since I saw supply coming in, I followed the method and waited for the no demand signal, which is my most common entry.

I like to look for high volume activity against the direction of my trade. In this case the stopping volume represented buyers/demand.

VSA and Wyckoff are related. VSA advanced the original concepts of Richard Wyckoff. There should be a good history of the two on Wikipedia.

I look for a significant increase in volume on an up candle, with an immediate down reaction to follow it. This works due to the way smart money operates, which is "buy low, sell high". Higher prices showed increaed activity to stop the move, so we know its supply (selling).

Great post man, I have a Wyckoff thread myself. I just dont use vsa as much to incorporate. Maybe on a bigger frame or even using the COT report but I have not looked at that in some time. Please feel free to browse my thread.

I believe Wyckoff has outlined one of the best ways to see the Market for what it is. And all you need is a little Money Management rules and trading with proper leverage and this can pour $$ into people's accounts. IMHO this is where you can gain the most out of the market and follow the market for what it is doing. Identifying money flowing in and out of the market is truly where the heart of every trader should be and this will put you in that direction.

Very straight forward set up. Saw a stopping volume on the 1 hour with a bullish reaction. Then stopping volume on the 5 minute with a no supply confirmation which is when I entered the trade. My trailing stop loss was hit off the rejection of the high of the day.

I'll try to make posts explaining more about this way of trading. I'm still learning but I'll share what I have down so far. The first thing I do is try to identify the Wyckoff Phase. Basically The phases show either positioning by Smart Money before for an anticipated move which would be during a range called accumulation and distribution. Or to see if there is a trending move and to judge if that move is going to continue or not.

The last trade I posted is a reversal trade so that's a trend that meets high volume to stop the move. That means I should look to trade against the trend. As I was taught, high volume stopping a trend means there is alot of activity to stop the move which is profit taking but also Smart Money entering the market in the opposite direction of the trend. When I was looking at the tradeguider videos, they talk about this ultra high volume reversal stuff but I didn't understand why. Knowing it's profit taking as well and large orders coming in in the opposite direction made it make sense. People like to say the trend is your friend and I guess sometimes it is but if Smart Money is going the other way, it's time to stop and look for a trade the other way. What a valuble thing to know!

Nice trade. That's distribution or at least supply coming in which is the start of a distribution phase. It's just a fancy word for smart money selling while the herd is buying. The M5 shows a high volume upthrust candle at the top as you probably saw. Surely a sign of weakness when price moves down to follow that. It could have been some proft taking too but definitly smart money selling. How did you decide exactly when to enter?

These are the basic Wyckoff phases. You will usually see accumulation start on a high volume that stops the mark down (the next candle needs to close higher than previous close in order to confirm stopping volume). While price is ranging, you would see higher volume at the bottom of the range to stop down moves. This confirms that the range is still accumulation. The top of the accumulation trading range represents supply (selling). The lack of supply is what causes the demand/buying off the lows to push up through and is where you see the mark up phase begin. It's an imbalance between supply/demand.

Re-accumulation usually happens very often at a 50-61.8 fib zone and you again start seeing higher volumes stopping down moves. That's smart money loading up more longs on a retracement. Once you see high volume to stop the mark up, you should be entering into the distribution phase which is basically accumulation in reverse. You'll see high volumes stopping up moves throughout the range and price eventually go into mark down phase.

Caught this set up yesterday on AU. Got stopping volume in the 1 hour followed by the up-reaction confirmation. The no supply was confirmed on the candle that closed above the no supply candle which is where I entered the trade. Eventually high volume came in with large pins on up candles which meant that there was supply comming. This led to the no demand. My exit was on the close of the down candle that confirmed the no demand.

I notice you haven't pointed out the first point of support and resistance. I have also noticed that in many charts the accumulation phases are sometimes short lived. Especially after a selling climax and technical reaction, and sometimes don't follow the traditional accumulation phase of SOS and SOW and retesting of the support and resistance lines before jumping the creek. The creek has to be established and is sometime short lived, which is the resistance line at accumulation.
