Hey guys could some one tell me of this is correct.

would a 300 ema on the 4 hour chart be equal/plotted out as the 50 ema on the daily chart?

This is only approximative ... as the MA value of the Daily is the same (flat) within the 6 H4 candles ... which isn't the case with your 300EMA

after playing with chart it appears that it is the proper way to plot it.
(light blue=50, Dark Blue=300)
1st pic 4 hour
2nd pic 1 day

Forumla I saw to do it is
(Minutes in period you want EMA to be)x(period you want Ema to be set to)/(number of minutes in period of chart you want the ema to be plotted on)

The proper way is to use a real multi-timeframe MA which will display a line with steps. In your example a step every 6 candles. Each step is the D1 MA value.

It only works with sma with the other ones you will have to approximate. Also worth noting that because of the week-ends and how your broker and/or your trade station handle the missing bars there are not always six H4 bars in a day.

Hi,
check out MTF moving averages. You will be able to plot any moving average on any time frame chart. I use MTF Bollinger Bands from this website. It is free download.
Check out if they match. MTF can be with steps or without it, needs to be tested, which ones works best.
