AAPL was good for quick scalp with today expiration calls (91.43 or 92 strike). Was too late for that, instead entered bull put spread 89/90 for Jul 11th expiration.

Thinking also on either selling calls or bear call spread on TSLA, in 270/265 region. History high at around 265
Hope is dangerous in this game.

How would you analyze to enter such trades? Technical graphical chart analysis?

Yes. Monitoring price in premarket also. Following news. Look at H4 AAPL chart. Clear breakout IMO.

I have seen the newsletters put out by Lacy Hunt at Hoisington Investment Mgt. recommended by various bond traders; click on the "Economic Overview" tab to find the quarterly newsletters as *.pdf's. Lacy Hunt (Ph.D.) was a chief economic advisor at the Dallas Fed, among other things...

was scanning the insider trading data on FinViz for the last week. noticed some good size ADBE sales. Profit taking, not panic, I surmise, but not hard to see ADBE drop back down to $68 or lower between now and Sep ER. No weeklies, though....

They sold more the following day but still not very much if you consider they still own 24.5 million shares. Just taking a little profit or rebalancing their portfolio IMHO.

yup, I agree. Good place to take profit. I just wanted to show an example of using the insider trading records as a possible aid for finding trades and that was the first thing I saw. It's very interesting to look thru the insider trade records but one has to be careful about jumping to conclusions based on that alone. Just another piece of the puzzle. I still think ADBE has a good chance of drifting back down to the mid-high $60's but I wouldn't trade it because 1) it has no weeklies, 2) the strike differential is $2.50, and 3) the strike volume is thin...

If I find some insider trading data on something more tradeable I'll let ya know.

lotsa data up in the coming week - various China numbers and the ADP/NFP, plus it's a short week. Watching for a new ^VIX low. Next chance of a break in the meltup may be next earnings fest.

With insider trading, I pay much more attention to insider buying than insider selling. They might be selling to take profit, diversify, reduce exposure, buy a house, pay for children's college, etc., etc., etc...... They usually buy for 1 reason & that's to make money!

Good point. How about OPK? CEO buys 65k shares on 6/25 @$8.65 for $562k. About the same time I see 13,000+ Sep $15 calls (sold? - that would be about a 20x covered call write on the 65k shares, fine, CEO owns 140MM+ shares) - so the call write pays back $250k+. not bad. Not sure if that's what happened, just conjecturing.

Anyway, OPK getting good press looks like it could be heading back to $12+....

I've followed OPK & Dr. Frost for several years. I held call spreads in OPK for over a year. A very speculative company (no earnings) if you follow fundamentals at all but big potential if things work out. Some analysts say it will never make money so there's a large short position in the stock. Dr. Frost has a pretty good track record. He sold his last company to Teva Pharmaceuticals a few years ago for billions. He buys OPK very regularly & owns a big chunk of the company.

Well it was a flattish week for US equities but the Nasdaq sneakily is poking up to around a new 10+ year high. Most of the Nasdaq darling piggies are back to where they were before the March dump. The Jul 19 strike falls before earnings week for many of the techpig names.
