Taking my lumps on bond spreads today, will be working to break even on several of those in TLT/TBT. Bought GLD $131 Sep calls @ $0.76 & will be looking to sell some otm calls against those soon, fingers crossed for a continuing gold rally north of $1300.

30 minutes away before opening and am looking at YHOO, considering a long put for $36.50, this all depends if yhoo opens around the price where it closed yesterday which was $36.78. If it opens past $36.85 then I will scratch the trade as the distance may be too much.

Instead i'm gonna trade the long put on GDX $23.50 when it opens for 2c or $2 per contract. GDX closed at $24.03 yesterday. It will be tough as the price is in between 50 and 200 day MA, but it Friday 13th and anything can happen

I'll end up down on the week a little, mostly cuz I am overweight short Treasurys, but many of those spreads are anchored now out to Sept, so I am sure they will make money, just have to wait a little. Not much for me to do today except watch a few 6/13 short legs expire in profit....TLT $109p, SSO $107.50p, etc....

I am playing both directions on GLD, waiting for some decisive trend to set up. As usual, plausible cases for gold running up or crashing are made every day in the press, but who knows? I was spread on GLD puts 7/3 $119 vs 6/21 $116, bought back the $116p for near max profit, now have 6/27 $119.50p that near breaks me even if it ends well. GLD Sep $131 calls above need a short call leg but I am waiting to see if gold won't add some upside before I get in that.

I'd hate to know I had to trade gold for a living...

Hi guys,

I am brand new to the options market. Thanks for this thread. Do you know guys if the ladder options or one-touch option pricing takes into account the S/R areas or if it just takes into account the distance to the target and the time left ?
Let's say if the price comes close to a major S/R area and the ladder or one-touch price is like 20 pips above it. Is it the same pricing ? I mean is the pricing set by an algorithm or is it set by supply and demand ?

Iraq could descend into fullon sectarian war. Even if that doesn't happen, calls for crude to $130, $150 etc in the next 6-12 months are heard. Looking for a trend? The trend is your friend. How ya gonna trade continuing runup in oil prices? B futures? XLE? lowly PBR?

But wait, if Iraq goes chaotic then the big oil companies that are entrenched there may be hurt - that's, XOM, CVX, BP, OXY, HAL, SLB. Maybe safer bet is the raw commodity.

I just started to trade and explore Binary Options on my thread http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=489602 .

Any way I am looking for a way to refine how I choose an expire any ideas or tips? Right now I primarily take an EOD and trade with trend as determined by pivot. I look at the average daily range as my expire. I am thinking of using deviation levels based on implied volatility any thoughts?

coming week has FOMC, lots of US housing sector econ data, Philly Fed, Core Inflation. A few names have ER's: ADBE, ORCL, etc. I am on the lookout for geopolitical news (Iraq) to shake the markets but that may not materialize. Watching World Cup instead of reading the news....more better...
