It's very quick to do. Just install camstudio (or gtk-recordmydesktop on linux) and LFH simulator (or a better simulator) and then just upload the resulting file to youtube. If you're feeling shy just make it unlisted so only thread viewers can see it.

Let me get the ball rolling. I'm still very much still learning. Please don't laugh! Not much clue and I switch around systems far too much, but I hope it inspires some ideas for you. If you already have some links of live trading examples I'd love to see those too.

Thanks for the vids Hayseed! Interesting strategy - I love it for the simplicity and I think for that reason I should check it out as I am overcomplicating what I do and that means more holes to plug to stop the discretionary ghoulie coming in!

I had a look through to see if I can make any comments.

First of all, you mentioned being impatient. A good way to combat that you already have by scanning loads of pairs. Going for smaller timeframes though is a cost and you recognise that.

For patience I've just started doing some drills. For this I load 'The Forex Game' on my phone and set the risk to 100%. The goal is to survive 3 rounds in a row without getting wiped out or adjusting the SL. It's difficult. You really have to wait a long time for a high confidence setup.

For MoneyManagement something I've discovered recently is another drill - the no strategy, MoneyManagement only drill:
http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/php...p=94302#p94301

Doing this has helped me value my stop losses, rather than getting hacked off when I get stopped out. Before I did this I kind of understood the importance of the SL but after actually drilling it I can quickly see that a SL is a money maker - at a minimum it is ensuring risk:reward is calculated.

Some tips on the strategy tester.
- bear in mind the MT4 tester isn't that great, fine for sketching out ideas but watch out because apparently even every tick mode has the odd error or 2 (don't know the details, just something I read)
- you can use the pause key to stop/start. Of course, running at speed different to real time is a drawback to psychology but the benefit is being quicker to test things of course
- use can also tap or hold the F12 key to advance in the tester

I noticed you adjusted your strategy in video 451... but you did this after the fact. Bear in mind that you're not going to able to do that in a live market ... or if yoiu do you're going to have to find something to look forward to you adjust it. If you don't have to do this too often the losses that result will be outweighed by the gains of course.
But the danger here is massive. The danger is that as soon as it stops working, you switch back. The winning continues but then stops, so you switch again... and so on, each time changing strategy. If you had stayed on the same tack it might have been fine. Who knows? But one thing is clear - psychology has just been introduced and that is the biggest risk in trading.

I got screwed by this last week in a slightly different situation. With leftover capital I put this on autotrade with the a top social trader. I had gone short gold... meanwhile they had gone long. I checked up on their trades to find they had gone martingale to the power of 3 trying to recover. This isn't something I expected from them - Martingale can wipe an account - it just increases win rate at the expense of risk. The drawdown is out of my comfortzone and most importantly I couldn't see an end in sight to how far they would go as the price drops. So I had to close. Straight after a closed the price went back. Because I was long elsewhere by loss wasn't too bad but the lesson is clear: I didn't respect their system. I didn't research their system rules before subscribing and I changed my system. I shouldn't have even checked up on the progress of the trades that frequently as it exposes my psychology to screw it up.

You only have to give an inch for psychology to screw things up. risk:reward of 1:1.5 covers you against that.

I want to practice more and upload more vids but the strategy tester I'm using doesn't allow easy TP/SL adjustments. I think I'm going to have to install Windows to get a better tester.

hey jago..... i adjusted it just to show how it trades..... but actually you can manually adjust it in a live market if need be..... it's adaptive so it routinely adjusts itself..... not only does it adjust the angle but more importantly the timeframe...... such as during certain hours or major news events it switches down to 5 minute or 1 minute tf's only...... the reason should be obvious......

in the picture below, the non public explorer , "trends.... large, small and otherwise" started with little 1000$ on 1-1-14..... that's the f 451 in a live account..... it has not had a single loss this year.....
//-----

my impatience is in watching charts..... waiting and waiting and waiting..... just can't do it..... that's where my desire for ea's comes from..... and heck, they can out trade me any day anyway..... so they do their thing while i do mine......h

Yeah I have the same problem with waiting. What I do is just put on some very small 0.01 lot size bets just to distract myself. Also, something I'm playing with is planning when to check back on the chart.

A friend of mine first knew he had a problem in a strip joint. Couldn't keep his eyes off his phone stock price! Don't be that guy

Got to get some big losses and wins under the belt to gauge yourself.

I am a Forex scalper, this is a typical trade that I do throughout the trading day. I use ninjatrader ATMs for my entries and exits. This particular one is I have several, targets 3,6, and nine pips and adjust my stop automatically to reduce my loss.
