Good point Jason, Interactive broker and Citifx requires minimum of 10k deposit. FXCM client accounts with a balance of $10,000 or more had a profitability rate of 44.09% , which is better than IB and citifx.

But the same people can be on a loosing side next quarter or even for the next 2 or 3 quarters. Would be interesting to know how many traders are profitable most of the time. Probably it's a single digit number

Hi Jason,

A Chart question. Is there some way that I can display only the Open position arrows on the respective candles without the Labels and lines at the same time? If I have multiple positions open the Chart is very cluttered and the labels seem to be shown at inconvenient levels. Yes, I can move them around, but I would prefer to eliminate them if possible and show only the arrows.

Yes, FXCM demo accounts show our real prices, so the spreads are identical to those available on live accounts. In fact, you can create a tick chart and choose to view a specific 4- or 5-minute period around a past news event like NFP to see exactly how wide the spreads got on our NDD price feed at the time in question.

Note that no demo can accurately represent the slippage (both positive and negative) that can occur especially during news events. However, our website provides information on how you can minimize negative slippage and maximize positive slippage.

Trading on UK100 did not open until a few minutes after the official opening of the LSE this morning. That was due to very low liquidity coming out of the holiday weekend. Below is an excerpt from the Execution Risks page of our website in the section called Holiday/Weekend Execution:

"The open or close times may be altered by the Trading Desk because it relies on prices being offered by liquidity providers to FXCM. Outside of these hours, most of the major world banks and financial centres are closed. The lack of liquidity and volume during the weekend impedes execution and price delivery."

Hi AG,

You can right-click on the Label, and in the menu that pops up, select Hide Label.

Thanks for the info. It would probably help in these cases if the icon on mouse over remained as the red circle with white stripe. Having the "target sight" icon showing implied I would be able to trade, as far as I was concerned...

Thanks for your suggestion. I think that's a great idea!

I've passed it onto our software development team for Trading Station and will let you know if it gets added in future update to the platform.

Hi Jason,

Do you think FXCM would ever implement a 'Trade Explorer' of their own built into TS ? Or atleast the ability to create a equity graph like MT4 based on the closed trades ?

Hi Dan,

While such functionality is not currently in the works for Trading Station, as with any new feature requests, if there is sufficient demand, it's always a possibility. I'll pass your suggestion onto our software developers. At this time we are working with Forex Factory on an integration that will allow all FXCM clients including non-MT4 users to link their trading accounts to the Trade Explorer on this site. I'll post more updates in this thread as I receive them.

Hi Jason,

Im a little confused here. So MT4 account holders CAN use trade explorer (TE) but the data will be limited to just 1 month of trades ? What happens at the end of the month on the linked TE ? I was looking to open an MT4 account so that I could link it to TE and keep a history of my trades plus all the extra data and stats. Do you know if this is the same for all brokers (the one month limitation)

Hi Dan,

That's correct, but this limitation is only temporary. We're working on an integration with Forex Factory that will allow all FXCM clients including non-MT4 users to link their accounts to Trade Explorer. After that integration is complete you will have access to your full history on Trade Explorer whether you trade with FXCM via MT4, Trading Station, Mirror Trader or NinjaTrader.

Probably not. FXCM has a unique MT4 setup that links directly to our own back office. While our back office stores complete data regarding your trades, only one month is available on the MT4 platform itself. The rest is archived to reduce the load on our MT4 servers and improve their performance.
