I have doubts with oanda.com I opened a demo account a while back...I love the platform ...im just worried that their live account platform might be different?? any thoughts on this?? anyone have a live account with oanda.com

I have a live account with oanda and the platform is exactly the same, and very reliable. but I still use MT4 for charts and oanda to place orders.

Oanda is outstanding. Their production platform is exactly the same as their "Game" platform. Fast fills, no dealing desk, low spreads. What else do you need? If I need to do any in-depth/long-term charting, I use a demo MetaTrader account as well, but since I trade mostly on support and resistance and trend lines, Oanda's charts work great for me most of the time.

I like Oanda because:
a) They've NEVER went down at news time. EVER. EVER.
b) They're customer support is top notch.
c) I've compared their feed to another ECN on a real-time basis, and even though they're spreads don't change like an ECN, and you are seeing their quoted price, it really doesn't move too much from the ECN's price.
d) I've never seem them do anything that I felt was detrimental to my trading success.

For a non-ECN, I consider them the best.
For an ECN, I would go with MB Trading. They are the best ECN IMO.

I don't use Oanda but I have run there demo next to hotspotfxi and for not being an ECN they have the closest prices to one I have seen.

Oandas FXTrade Platform is very reliable, the game platform has a glitch once in a great while, both platforms are Identicle or as close as one can possibly get.

Oanda is simply an excelant trading enviroment, fast fills, not enough slippage to be worried about, low spreads that do vary with news but even then they are still very reasonable.

The charts are very basic but clean and easy to navigate, I use VT trader for studies and enter all trades with Oanda.

Oanda is good, but Oanda have 1 disadvantage.

Oanda didn't allow us to trade the news with a big amount (like a million quantity per trade) and then close the position in less than 5 minutes.

Because if we closed the positions very fast (less than 1 minute) Oanda will loss a money. So imagine if you trade with a million quantity per trade.
Oanda would not allowed us to do this and will inform you to not doing that method.

Try to ask them if you don't believe

But overall, Oanda is good if you're not trade the news with a very big amount (like more than a million quantity per trade) but closed less than 1 minute.

So, I'm looking for another platform that allowed a news trading method and allowed less than 1 minute to close the position without any limitation.

Does anybody have an experience on mbtrading.com and hotspotfx.com ? because I see their platform are good too, but I don't know they would allow us to do a news trading or not ?
(and it would be better if the broker is using a metatrader platform, because metatrader is a very good software platform)

I fell for Oanda platform and maintained a satisfactory practice account. The problem came when I signed up for a live account and after sometime wanted to transfer my balance to another broker, but it just couldn't be done. More annoying was the fact that I got no response to my numerous emails on the matter and finally I called it off as a bad joke. I sincerely advice "Beware of this Bloke called Oanda"

fffx, I had the same problem but when I mentioned NFA and CFTC they transfered my account to another broker.
Oanda is OK although they play some tricks when they can.
