I was a member of AceGazette when the access was free of charge. Want to ask anybody who has the access to AG now by paying monthly fee - is there anything more now then there was before ? I mean, do they offer any new knowledge now, like articles, ideas etc. or the content is the same and they just wanted to get rid of the lurkers and make smaller but better community ?

Trading supply&demand with Price Action in an environment of just active traders who are or want to become professional traders. All the trades of the fund will be posted in the forum (trade setups) - also, the option to be part of the fund group at some time (experience, ...)

I agree Porkpie, before it was thousands of members and now it's only those who take this as a business, rather than a hobby.

Hi Infest

Hope all is well.

Are you apart of AG?

Have you ever spoken to C-12 again.

He had lots of promise but dont know if he saw it through to the end.

All the best

Hi guys would any one of you like to continue the thread or start a new one? (not commercial)

Hello Eaglestar,
I seem to always come back to s/d trading. I believe it is the true path to successful trading. Yet I have deviated often. Although I am a member of RTM I have difficulty with their twist on s/d trading. Acegazette has gone fee-based and I have opted not to continue there. I was quite inactive there anyway. RTM charges around 10K USD for entry into their academy. I just can't see forking over the $$$. PIE has long since died. I long for a true s/d thread here at FF with active participants and hopefully a leader or two committed to true free teaching as PIE used to. I have ideas but I am far from a successful s/d trader. PIE was a great thread. Is there anyone? I'm willing to help, participate.

Hi guys,

Thought I'd drop by and provide an update on this thread. I've missed the old place.

The truth is I quit trading around 6 months ago after realising I didn't have enough discipline or consistency. I found it much more intense than I initially thought and was unprepared psychologically. I also had a lot of added stress from my now ex girlfriend.

I do plan on returning again in the future and thankfully almost all my funds are still intact. I've moved house and got myself a new job. Trading fulltime was a serious education. I got my ass handed to me but I do know this really is possible if you have covered all these bases... (can't really say I had any of these).

1) Enough capital ($50k minimum + 12 months living expenses)
2) Partner and family in full support
3) Solid tested trading and business plan
4) Discipline to follow the above plans
5) 1 year of prior consistent profits (with live money)

I'd say trading is 30% knowledge and 70% discipline. They go hand in hand. The guys over at AG will teach you the skills needed but ultimately the discipline is down to you. Nobody can stop you clicking those buttons, even when you know it's the wrong thing to do and not in the plan.

I'm very sorry to Ken that I couldn't make it work after all the help he gave me. Without doubt he is the real deal of traders and $25 per month is nothing for what I'm sure you'll get in return. Ken doesn't need money from AG, he just wants dedicated traders to work with and eventually hand over the batton for others to take over.

Hi C-12,
It was a very sincere post, glad to see that post, feels like some sort of catharsis.

sorry to hear about failing with your system but glad that you still strive for success

I think you have a very good intuition in catching market trends and your lack of discipline comes from the massive leverage you were using.
I honestly think that instead of risking 5% on each trades that you take while you take hundreads of trades each day,
try lower your risk to 0.25%-0.5%
when you trade 1m chart risking 6pips with 0.5% you still leverage your account 1:15~
and at the end of the day with a good hit ratio your equity curve won't look so scary as you mentioned @ one of your posts, the DD won't look like a sharp drop and you'll be probably much more comfortable with the risk

beside with 100 trades a day risking 0.25% and getting 1:1-1:10 reward would be 0.25%-2.5% gain per trade.

Yeah I agree 100%.

I made a number of early reckless decisions (trading well outside of my risk profile) and had a pile of disastrous sessions that I never really recovered from psychologically.

Sure, I had some really great days as well but it just wasn’t consistent enough. As as a scalper you need to be happy with 20-30 pips and call it a day. For me it was either 1,000 pips positive or a complete bust. It was insane and I was out of control.

My trading style relied on me being in 'the zone' and I couldn't keep that up. I realised my poor discipline problems were exacerbated by lower time frames but I just couldn’t quickly develop the patience to trade off higher timeframes, even though I felt I had a pretty solid reading of a daily and H4 chart.

In the end I did start to feel my way back into scalping off M5/M15 but it was too little too late.

I’m looking forward now to getting back to higher timeframes and sticking to swing trading. I’ve ditched 2 of my monitors and will be back in business next week with a smaller selection of pairs.

C-12 always enjoyed reading your thread. Would be great to see you posting again.

For other readers of the thread here's one of Ken's comments that has always stuck in my mind, taken from RTP I think.

'Even if I told you what it was, it wouldn't help you' - kennyz

Cheers Neil

At least I now have a ton of knowledge that I didn't have previously, specifically about my psychological flaws. I loved M1 and M5 scalping but I’ve now got the addiction out of my system.

I've rejoined AG and looking forward to catching up with Ken and the guys soon. I’ll post here again on here once I've taken some trades but H4 is probably as low as I'll go to keep my irrational discipline in check.

Good of you to come back and conclude. Discipline IS the key which will render knowledge useless if you don't have it, especially in the lower scalping time frames where there is less time to make decisions. A valuable lesson for all. I tried scalping but failed miserably. The less time I look at the charts the better. The less time thinking the better imo . Good luck with your new job.

Well if it's any consolation C12, a littl bird told me the ace gazette fund account is only at break-even since inception.

Not too sure about the details but I'm sure Ken will be keeping a watchful eye on the account and providing regular feedback to the guys involved.
