May I ask on what time frames did you try bobhowson's strategy? I'd appreciate that info because I'm trying it on H4 and D1 (the latter with a slight modification) and getting great results so far.

it won't work for the long run!!!,..i tried it on 4hrs + daily! with some filters and i figure out that i dont need the semaphore indi..its useless for my trading style

(thats just me) there is lot of traders here that use it, for me its no need..

G/J looks like a good entry, I have taken that one.
In my opinion G/U does not look like a high probability trade.
I don't trade Silver.

Hi Taru

As you know, the semaphore indicator repaints, there is no way around that. However, that does not mean that it can't help us in making decisions for our trading.

Some things to consider when you get a 3ball semaphore signal are: Trend, supply demand areas, psych areas etc.

Here are Bob's rule from his first post

1) 3 Level ZZ Semafor Indicator... That's It !

THE RULES FOR UP TREND

1) Only Trade The Daily Charts

2) Ensure You Have A Nice Trend

3) ALL TRADES ARE MARKET ORDERS

4) Place Your STOP LOSS UNDER The GREEN DOT After It Closes

5) Place Your BUY STOP ORDER10 Pips Or So Above The GREEN DOT

6) Keep Moving Your Stop UP Every 50 or So Pips

7) Close The Trade When A PINK or RED DOT Appears.

That's It !

I would advise staying away from 3ZZ repaints like MSpaint...

Yes Forexswag, indicators that repaint are not for everyone, I would not follow signals blindly from any indicator, repaint or not. Thats why the rules by Bob on the first post are important. Perhaps another system might suit you better. I believe that a system that works for one person may not suit all. For example, this system is giving me the best results since I have started trading, many years ago. As they say, horses for course.

I agree. I have realized that repainting is actually beneficial as the indicator's logic reacts to changing price action. By doing so, it warns that the current trend is continuing and the reversal point is yet to come. This is crucial information.

I've been thinking that maybe it'll be better to wait for the candle immediately following the one with the semafor to close and enter a trade only after seeing that the signal didn't repaint. Hopefully this will filter out false signals.

Since yesterday, I have placed 12 trades after waiting for candles immediately following the ones with the semafor to close and not a single one has repainted. Currently I have 23 open trades on H4 with +933 pips of floating P/L. Lets see how it goes.
