I registered a demo account with Oanda and MB Trading. I did some comparison of PA quotes and spreads and it looks like retail brokering is easy money. Off the bat, the PA on broker platforms are 2 pips off (against you) and then the spreads are also wider by at least 3+ pips on any pair. I am gauging this off my MT5 platform that is not associated with any broker that I downloaded from the MT site. Now, the 2 pips on PA is relative so it doesn't really impact someone as far as cost, but just knowing that even if I win or lose, the broker will always make 2 pips plus commission off me (and also the inflated spread). Ridiculous. And they try to market themselves as saints saying they have low commissions and low spreads... BS.

So in reality, I have to first win at least 10-12 pips before I even start making a penny.

Well, such is life. I have been mostly winning while demo-ing independently on MT5. Now I will need to recalibrate and see if I can overcome the broker disadvantage - yes I know without them I cannot trade, but they make it difficult to succeed.

every broker in world works for commissions. try sell property.
i think no one in world works for free yet.
need pay office rental, need pay staff, need pay for robot, need pay tax.need buy contacts free lunches and drinks.
I remember interbank brokerage was about $5-$12 usd for every million depending on which part of the food chain one was in.

Also don't complain about the spread, is already very good.
You know sometime ago peeps trades with banks.
The dealers make spreads 2 pips to 5 pips wide for trading.
But customers never get dealers prices, because need have dealing lines trade with bank dealers direct.
and even with line peeps can only deal with TMU(treasury marketing units). dealers won't speaak to anyone except themselves.
TMU normally quotes 10-20 pips for up to 5 million usd. anything above 5 mio gets a little better spreads. They also need make their salaries.
Have you tried trading with money changers? or bank tellers? air stewardess and tour guides, taxi drivers yet?
you would need pay about 300 to 500 pips spreads. women charge the widest spreadswhy?
So try not say they BS la.

Demo is good time horn your skills.oh nice you profitable in demo.
Thats because you not serious yet.
no weddings with positions. no emotional unroars yet.
no personality conflicts with marraige .
There's still lots to learn. take your time.

sorry if I missed it in the threads before. is gaps part of the price action dance in the MO ... somehow I have a feeling it will affect how you dance depending on open or close gap ... or is that too rigid as well
