Only LMAX, IC Markets and FXOpen from this list provide ECN environment (trader can change spread by his limit orders and can trade with other traders directly).

I have a Demo ECN account with Excel Markets, (the spreads are really thin).
How do you change spreads with Limit Orders?
Will check out the brokers on your list.

I had FXCC's Demo but they add their commissions to their spreads and the total spreads were more than my Live NDD broker so I didn't bother to go further.
Will check out Dukascopy.

Just find some slow pair with wide spreads and put your limit order into it. Spread should stay thiner.

trading in demo with them at the moment seems pretty good.

Best one is MB Trading. Very smooth system last couple of years, Limit orders reflect, and lots of liquidity. They also offer cTrader now, which is even smoother and better.

Nope. Armada is not ECN broker. They are STP broker with a bit strange bridge from MT4 to their LP's. This bridge sends limit orders as market orders. So you can get limit order execution with negative slippage.

Agreed. I asked this question initially to get the feedback of others. I think there is a misconception here as MT4 is not an ECN platform out of the box. It can be bridged to an ECN environment to offer STP execution and the best pricing taken from an ECN pool of liquidity. In essence if done correctly this setup would be the same as trading directly on the ECN platform itself. However the information would not get passed through. I have seen some plugins by various brokers to show pricing from multiple liquidity providers and market depth inside MT4, which technically provides an ECN environment ...but yes it is no Currenex.

If these brokers (and their plugins) show not only LPs' liquidity but also liquidity from other traders (their limit orders) only then it is an ECN environment. And there are such brokers.
+1 to IC Markets, they are a True Ecn broker regulated by ASIC, offering accounts in both MT4 and ctrader platforms. I have been trading with their MT4 ECN account for a while now and completely satisfied with their service and support, You should check them out.
From what I have read there is not much difference between ECN(electronic communication network) and STP (Straight through processing) especially if the broker has a no-requote policy. Some brokers not on ECN may ask for re-quotes. However some using STP guarantee all orders, so if they can do that then you should not be concerned.
