I am trading forex since a long time now but I cannot find a single strategy which has success rate of around 80%. If there is any winner on this forum, please share your strategy. Thank you.

Win/Loss ratio is just one factor to consider. It's easy to achieve a win loss ratio of 80% if you have a very low reward to risk ratio. So, for instance, if you are willing to risk 80 pips to win 10, you would easily hit an 80% w/l ratio, but still lose pips over the long haul. I'm assuming you mean a w/l ratio of 80% with a good reward to risk ratio of 1:1 or better? That would be something to see!

If a trader had a 80% win strategy with a good risk reward ratio, it probably took them years of research and development to get to that point. Why on earth would they just give it to some stranger on the internet??

If you read this post (which was written by a trader with more than 30 years experience), you'll hopefully understand why there is no simple answer to your question.

Some good answers above and I would add my tuppence: In a word, yes. Am I going to give it to you? No. Why? Two reasons.

1. The strategy I give you may not continue to give 80% as market conditions change, even if you could trade it, which I doubt, because you would still have to come back after 4 or 5 losses in a row and if you are asking this question then you are new to the game and psychologically unfit.

2. Do you have any idea how much time and effort goes into checking probability to come up with that kind of strategy? To narrow it down so that maybe 1 trade per week will give a better win rate? Maybe you do, because we find you here asking someone else to do it for you. How do you think that makes me feel?

Of course there are many strategies with such a yield but you will probably not find on a forum coz:

1: Such strategies are expensive- lots of time and money on developing these

2: For the strategy to work all times, the owner must tweak it occasionally. Of course the mr ijustwannastrategy won't be able to tweak it accordingly- the strategy will fail and he/she will post very unpleasant comments about a good strategy on a forum.

Strategies that work well for others need not necessarily provide you with the same results. You may be better off, trying to develop a strategy on your own..

It's simple really. You just have to know which phase the market is in, without knowing that the best you can do is just jump in and hope for the best. I am not talking about no indicators here or wait until whichever line is in fashion today crosses over, I am talking about looking at a chart and know when significant buying and selling has taken place. Think of it this way, Forex is like a male waiter wearing high heel shoes, while carrying 8 orders and wobbling across the room.
Now the different currencies are all on the serving tray, and some have more volume in them than others, so he has to always counter balance certain side of the tray more than others because some of the currencies he is carrying have more weight than others. Trust me it's not hard at all, what is hard is the compromises that have to be made in order to trade properly,if only trading twice a week was good enough then most people would be fine, but some people like to be trading every second like an action movie, so that won't work for them. a trader that can make $500 off of a $2000 investment in a year is a professional in my book, but as we all know we don't think in percent we mostly think in money and $500 a year don't sound good no matter how you cut it.

What I am trying to say is this, there are too many variables and ways to trade, can I give you a system that can be 80 percent right? sure easily but not one that would be 80 percent right trading everyday, you can trade twice a year and be 80 percent right. Heck you can double your money on 2 trades a year if that's your strategy. What I am saying is this, everybody always are worried about being profitable but I think that is the wrong thing to worry about, the market wasn't design for you to be profitable, it was design for you to lose money. There are only two things that can happen in the market, either you lose money are you profit, so if you minimize loses profits will come.
Being a trader is lonely, but being a great trader is lonelier still

Just curious as to why you wanted a strategy that works 80% of the time rather than all the time or at least for 90% of the time??

80% with what Risk:Reward Ratio?
80% in a population of how many trades?
80% with equal or varying winners in terms of equity %. That is, small winners, average winners or big winners (Define small, medium and big).
What are parameters for the rest 20%? That is, small, average or big losers or just Break-Even trades?
Is there any time frame limit? That is trades taken in 10 years, 100 years, 1,000 years or 10,000 centuries?

I have a system that is successful only 51% and therefore assume you won't be interested in that. However, this system is applied with a trading strategy that works 100% of the time. Think about it ..............and glance at the name of your thread and your first post. Then again think about it.

There are so many strategies that produce success ratio of even more than 80%, but issue is that they only work 80% of the time and not all the time.

If you dont believe me, go long on eurusd when it touches 1.3810 with a TP of 1.3811 and SL about a thousand pips below. Trades like this will have success ratio of 80% and will work 80% of the time.

Personally, if I was able to make a strategy that works for the most of the time, even up to 80%, I would never give it away because, as most others said, it takes me lots of times and years to develop and formulate such strategy, so why should I give it away to someone who is asking for it? It may sound rude but it had to be said.
I know that sometimes trading is very frustrating when you are not able to make the profit, but please try your best to improve by experimenting or changing up the strategy. When you can make a profit, you will be glad that you did it on your own.

I appreciate your honesty and it does not sound rude. I suppose that's how most of us feel. It's not easy to freely share something that you have labored rigorously to create.

Thank you for your response. I do feel a little bit better now.
And yes, someone worked really hard and spent most of their time to make the strategy and they won't just give it away like that. But sure, there may be some people who have no issue in sharing the strategy but it does not come easy in hand.

You're welcome. I agree such people do exist but rarely and if someone came up to me offering their plan to riches I'd first question what's in it for them?
