be+, in both cases closed half to pay for s/l, and did so a few pips higher than s/l needed... but with my position sizes it doesn't really count. Couldn't eat lunch from these two... it's more a cup of coffee

Finally U/J longs are looking good. If it gets up above 103.2x tomorrow will be looking to go short Single Malt and long Cigars, no SL! How's that for a straddle option?

Good morning.

Again all quiet on the asian front... more or less. Crazy friday ahead and I've got no ideas atm. Will have a closer look at UJ, see where I should place some buy limits. Only long from yesterday still cruising is AU from 9010, and just read that Citi is shorting for 0.86. Well, this town is too small for the both of us!

It's me and my trading style. I think that these two are interwoven with everyone of us, that is why it is so difficult to trade someone else's system.

I think I started out as someone who wanted to be proven right about some prediction that has somehow formed in my mind. Like: the EUR is doomed, the Dax will reach 12000, whatever. After that conviction has been formed, it's difficult to adapt to the real data, I tended to read all circumstances in favour of my original view. Whereas the sensible approach would be to forget about biases, about the big prophecy and be proven right in the view of friends, family, ff-members, the general public (), and take what the market offers you. So: close trades that don't work according to my initial idea, take profits at intervals, etc.

I read about it in Nate Silver's 'The Signal and the Noise', and he applies the concept to those tv-prophets, who fill the channels with their predictions, although they've been wrong almost all the time. Interesting read, btw.

Just realized, it's not only crazy friday, but triple witching day...

sound considerations Larry, most important is finding your psychology of trading and keeping in mind there are no easy/sure bets as most of FF-members pronounce

yes, I think you're right about trading style and personality.. I understand what you mean now, and agree about "take what the market offers", there is always a new trade..

something that helped me a lot was when I began digging a bit in my own mind.. long story short, according to Carl Jung you're either introverted or extroverted sometimes 40/60 sometimes 90/10 etc etc.. anyway I'm very introverted, I like analysing, simple thinking, working alone etc etc.. after reading some more about it, a lot of things started to click, and I knew I had certain limitations etc..

US Oil = Crude WTI (not Brent Crude) http://www.bloomberg.com/energy/

The reason I got higher price because of April Contract then automatically roll-over to May contract

ah ic, are positions automatically closed at roll-over time?
I experienced the same thing with BUNDS, rolling over to a new contract means dropping some 200 pips in price so I guess market expectations define the difference between future and cash prices. I hate it because it disturbs the charts so much, but never experienced a roll-over while in position.
