Thanks for the replies, yes, I did see the difference in the exact daily highs, but they are within the 15 pips allowance previously mentioned; see the price action of 2-24-2014 has been contained by that line which I have move to please the purists.

I'm sure this will be interesting as the days go by, patience required for daily - anyone see a move back down to 1.3450 or lower?

Yeah, look at it, wasn't quite ready for that, but Forex being what it is I'm sure it will come back to that price area and pick up any slow traders

Not just this pair but many are in sideways chop.

And there it is, jump on for the reversal trade entry also note, price is much closer to making an Average Weekly Range to the low side than the upside

EURO is not giving up easily, still above the 200SMA, wait & see is all can do, followed the method for entry, stop in place...

You are correct, but according to original post, should stick to main pairs, but I'm thinking for DAILY time frame, should be able to expand to many pairs as easy to follow and draw lines daily instead of every 4 H, right?

I´m wondering about the results of theese last few weeks, specially people that is trading the system in futures as Mini Dow as they are daytrading suppose are good. But I don´t find the way to daytrade satisfactorily.

Could anybody explain how to daytrade the system, please? Would be very useful. Specially the way to enter after the opening.

After thourough reading, make it your own, test it, and work on your own daytrading system.

I trade the US session with Trade Station...as a US citizen, I do not have access to the DOW via any acceptable MT4 dealers...and quite frankly I am migrating away from MT4...I have discovered that the spread manipulation that takes place on the FX side does not happen in Futures...you pay your commission and the spread is 1 pip the majority of the time. ie the price is the price...

If there is any doubt about whether or not this method works...just take a look at yesterdays chart (DOW 5 min, Thursday, 3-13-14). I am trying to address ranging markets which do occur quite frequently, but usually once every day there is an opportunity for 50 pips or more...yesterday there were several.

I am currently working with an oscillator to help me define the "edges" of a range so as to trade inside on those ranging days...But that is just me...you can just stay away from those days and not worry about it. The trending days will come soon enough and there will be no doubt as to this method's power and simplicity when they do.

This looks great, I'm watching this on the daily TF and 2 Yen pairs just entered short for me. Anyone have success with this on the daily?

Buff, any thoughts for the daily charts? I'm thinking if many pairs are watched, the out come may be similar with less screen time.

This method will work on any time frame it is just using price and trends which occur on all time frames. The only thing you should be aware of on a daily or any large time frame is the stop distance. A daily time frame may have a stop of 200-300 pips or even more. And during a ranging market this can cause some large losses, unless you adjust your trading size appropriately. Just something to keep in mind.

Well said gspajon. You are spot on and thanks for your continued support. Right from the get go I have stated that this is a just a good framework for a trading system that you should make your own. Pick your own timeframe, add your own filters etc. The system is not perfect but it has potential. Like any trading system, you will need patience, courage and discipline. Just keep in mind, not every trade will be a winner. It is all about money management and winning more than you lose. If your system is only on 40% profitable don't think this is a bad thing as long as your 60% losers lose less than the 40% winners. I personally think a little different from the general trading community, where as my profitable trading percentage doesn't have to be that flash, nor do I subscribe to the normal risk reward ratios touted all over the various forums by the so called gurus. And just to clarify, I'm not a guru by any means. Actually one of my favourite sayings is "don't ask a fat person how to lose weight'. Apply this saying to anything in life as you see fit. No offence intended to fat people, but if your do want to lose weight, as k me and I'll gladly help you out without any kick back. Hint : just think Paleo....

Anyway, thanks everyone for following and contributing to this thread. I've got nothing to sell to anyone on FF so it is just a matter of helping out fellow traders. It is up to you to take from this what you choose..

But there is more going on. For those that know me, I am pretty keen on designing my own EAs. Some have been good, some not so good. I only come up with the ideas and then pass them onto my gun Programmer. She builds the EAs for me which either makes me look like a genius or an idiot. More times, an idiot as her programming skills are excellent. I have shared some versions of my EA here on this thread. Now I am going to start a new thread and it will be titled 'Buff's SMSF EA' where I will give out the EA and the required indicators. I want to create a full on discussion about this EA and get others involved in the testing, so it will help me with my trading Now my contract on Manus Island PNG is completed and I'm back home in Oz, hopefully I'll be able to give more to my trading exploits and get a little more involved in the FF forum. Not sure whether peopele are still using this method. My question is what is the reasoning behind the four lines, why not two, six, ten or whatever?

I traded this for a while. Not sure if Buff is around but I'll try to answer. 4 seems to be a sweet spot as far as aggressive entry vs. less aggressive entry. Buff said at one point he used 3 lines but it was a more aggressive entry.

Thanks for the answer mikeh3855. You are spot on. This system was originally designed to trade three pairs (EUR, GBP & CHF) on the 1hr chart. The 4 lines seemed to work best on this timeframe. With the 4hr charts, I tended to trade more aggressively and only use 3 lines. Really attempted to get the SAR moved as soon as possible. A lot more smaller losses, but when the big move eventually came, it more than made up for the losses and some. Like I have always said, this was just a basic framework to show you all something a little different so you could do with it what you want.

I am going back to fulltime trading early next year and this is one system I am considering trading. I would go back to the 1hr timeframe and train a small team of traders to trade it on my behalf. Even though there is way more work required on this timeframe due to having to monitor it at the top of every hour, it tends to give you more consistent results week to week. I only need 100 pips a week to make my target. With the 4hr charts, even though you may have a huge month or months, you may then experience a couple of slow months in a row. I prefer to see my results ticking over. Cheers.
