Overnight results: My version running 18/42 is about even overnight with 11 closed trades, 7 wins, 3 losses and 1 BE. The version running 25/50 is ahead nicely with 7 closed trades, 5 wins and 2 that were reversed, 1 at BE and the other for a small loss.

The default version I had started on the 11th is behind quite a bit, still trying to make up for the many losses it had. Those early losses were posted a few threads ago.

Wackena, have you started forward testing these settings? If so, are you using the trailing feature to lock in profit or waiting for tp 120? I still have a version of G running with a sl of 120 that does pretty well, but never used that high of a tp with it.

Down in the experts tab it shows it trying to take trades but its says

What lot size are you using, and for which pair are you getting that error message? Are you getting any trades at all?

And are you creating a template to make sure you're applying the same settings to all charts? Also, how many platforms are you running, and are you getting these errors on all the platforms?

I ended up in the red yesterday 11 wins 6 pseudo wins (positions closed before TP) and a whopping 13 losses. So far today I am 4 wins and zero losses (with one breakeven). I am going by the server time with my broker which is GMT +2.

That's a "leftover" from Firebird. It calculates the trades differently. There's a doc in the firebird thread somewhere that explains all the old settings. Per Hendrick's request to keep it clean, I'm not going to post it in this thread -- you'll have to dig it out if you really want it. It's mentioned in the Phoenix manual.

When is the newer version going to be released?

As of right now it seems that nobody is really in profit. I'm in profit from yesterday but I didn't have it running all day and I manually closed my trades, none hit TP.

Wow, 13 losses is not pretty. By the way, Yardie, I was meaning to mention to you the other day about your computer rebooting itself and you missing a few trades overnight -- even though you missed a string of losers it could just as well been winners. To avoid that, place your platforms in your windows startup folder. Then if it reboots overnight, they automatically start up and continue trading. Works like a charm

Another thing I've noticed about this EA is that all of my trades have gone into profit at one time or another. You could actually profit by scalping the EA. By this I mean manually closing your trades once they go a little ways into profit. Do this and trade with more than one lot and you could do very nicely.

Well, that kind of defeats the purpose of the EA, closing manually. The original firebird had a tp of 10 and sl of 120 and it closed profitable trades all day long. The pipstep is one of the things that killed it though. Phoenix doesn't have the pipstep. You can set your tp to whatever you want, so if you want to just scalp a few pips bring the tp down to whatver you want. Be careful though with your sl because obviously with a very low tp a lot of profitable trades can get wiped out with one stop -- another reason firebird would crash.

Well I was net -129 pips yesterday and with todays wins net -29 pips. Its on a demo so its ok. I want to see how the EA perform over time..a few days worth of trading is too little to use to judge.

What are you using for your tp and sl? I set mine to what Yardie's is set at and when it's running, it's profitable, but I had to close my trades manually because I left the house for work.

I started forward Demo testing this morning. tp=120, sl=130, ts=0. At present, 1 early closed win (eur/usd) and 3 open orders ( 1 ea. eur/usd, usd/jpy, use/chf).

I will start another Phoenix Demo. Same setup with ts=15.

I think this setting would work IF Phoenixsurf and Phoenix regular would close each other out when they reverse a position. Otherwise you could find yourself with a lot of open orders in trending markets.

Anyhow I am not break even for the past two days 5 wins and 1 pseudowin so far today.

You're not trading this live are you? This should only be on demo at this point. Hopefully you're on demo, so just leave it running 24/7.

I'm running a couple different versions: one is default, another default but with a tighter safearea, and a couple with different tp and sl -- none with a tp less than 18 and none with a sl higher than 50.

No it's not live, it's a demo account. I don't leave my computer running while I'm not at home.
