Try also backtesting to check your trades. This is my two cents.

Hi Forexalien,

I have noticed on EU D chart that Black Sto crossed Green Sto. At the same time ADX 7 lost momentum. Can we consider such set-ups as the sign of ending a push long.

Good Day!

Strange finding, UJ D and H4 charts. They are both flat, but looks like DS is forming but in opposite directions.

I think we should avoid this pair for now, what you think?

Why avoid this pair ? In any case, one of the 2 situations will break the BBs and then gives you the right direction to go ... if others indicators also give you the momentum.

I have lack of practice. Do not you think like the higher TF has more power, I mean on H4 movement can be correction, before major move on D?

Addition to the above example on EU D.

Looks like whenever cross of Black and Green at near 80 level happens, price stops the movement.

I don't think that higher TFs have more power than lower ones. All depend on where we are in the move.

Example if the trend is going to reverse, the lower TFs will start first then lead the higher TFs to establish a new trend.

Both DS trades could well be valid : the jump long that is building on H4 would then complete the retrace(the DS divergence) from the D so D can then resume it's downmove.

The example you give shows rather weak DS trades tho. they remain on their side of the 50-line, but better would be if they stayed closer to 20/80. look at the H4 for now and once the DS crosses the DS signal line, drop to H1 to look for ADX expansion. if there is no ADX action, you'll have to sit on those itchy triggerfingers and start waiting for the daily DS to develop more.

ADX is really the essential bit to the system so far, all the other stuff tells us where and when to look for ADX expansions. Only exception for me is when i try to use the stochs to find tops/bottoms, in that case i'll start building positions before ADX, but i'll freely admit i get faked out a lot.

What do you mean by "once the DS crosses the DS signal line"

You mean once DS crosses 20 from below? So we expect a rally up on H1?

your green stoch, black stoch, rsioma and DS all have a thinner or dotted line. this is a moving average of the indicator itself and is called the signal line. when the DS crosses the signal line it means the DS has reversed direction = price started moving in the direction of the 'slingshot trade'. this is the moment ADX strength should be building on the lower TF.

Oh you mean that signal. Well I removed the signals from green stoch, black stoch, rsioma but still have one on DS. Visually there are too many lines for me...
