Just noticed your reply Fiji. I am doing much better with it these days. That was early days when I posted that comment. Now I pretty much stick with the original plan with mentoring.

Hey Wiz! Glad to hear you're doing better. Let's try the Skype thingy again sometime. I realize now that I was sitting in a dead spot in my home based wireless network. Email me if you want to try again.

Download WinZip from www.winzip.com. You need WinZip to open them.

Hi revdax,

There are three distinct Vegas methods available on this forum. (1) VWB aka Vegas Wealth Builder, (2) Vegas 1 hour tunnel method and (3) Vegas 4 hour tunnel method (my personal favorite).

The curves you mention are simply lines that are parallel to the central moving average and are placed at fibonacci distances from that central moving average. These curves are different for each of the three methods and also by currency. In the Beginner's Forum, there is a sticky thread that contains all the Vegas documents for the three methods. In post #2 of that thread you can download an indicator for the Vegas 4 hour method called "FF Tunnel Chart" that is an indicator for MetaTrader4.

Besides the Vegas document, you may wish to read the thread entitled "Lost in the Tunnel" started by HeavyJ. That thread focuses on the 4 hour tunnel method.

Enjoy!

Hi Dialist,

(1)I am getting a bit confused. Now i have download the StrategyFactoryFx chart, is this a MT4 platform?
(2)Is the 4 hr Tunnel Method contained in the MT4 trading platform?
(3)If not in the strategy chart or the MT4 platform, where can I download one? I have been searching all over this and it does not seem to be in sight.

Thank you in advance,

Revdax

(1) If you meant StrategyBuilder, then yes, it is MT4.
(2) No, you have to add the fib lines and indicators yourself.
(3) For the 4 hour strategy, download the "FF Tunnel Chart" indicator from post #2 of the Vegas sticky in the Beginner's forum. For help on using this indicator, read through the thread called "Lost in the Tunnel".

Thanks for your questions!

Hi

I done a lot of research on the vegas method.

I was wondering if in fact it has been successful with others, other than Vegas himself?

Also, what are the necessary things to look out for when using such a method?

Cheers

Rusty

If not successful, it was really an eye-opening to read all the early Vegas documents. All of a sudden I started seing some order in the price movements.

I abandoned the strategy itself, but I still use bits and pieces as confirmation to my trades.

I am new to this thread, and just reading the threads and looking at the 4HR charts does seem very interesting. Can someone tell me where can I download this ROC [from smjones] or PM it to me? Also, I believe it one trades on the 4 HR chart, don't you think that price could have gone too far to catch all those PIPs?

Here you go
I have had requests for ROC for MT4, so here is a good one I found on the net that offers two adjustable settings.

The way I use it is, If the line is above zero it is an uptrend. If the line is below zero, it is a downtrend. If the line is above zero and changes direction to the down slope, it is still an uptrend, but the trend is slowing. The reverse is true for below zero.

I use the setting of 9 on the 4 hour. But It can be experimented with for the best setting...

SMJONES,

The ROC indicator is great, helped me catch a lot of PIPs today, just I have a question still on the indicator. My settings for the indicator are: 9, 14, 0, 0 - can you tell me what they mean? I have also noticed that today on the GBPUSD, ROCPeriod1 is heading up away from the zero line while ROCPeriod2 is heading down towards the zero line. I do not know if this is an indcation to get out or what? I just want to keep as many PIPs before it turns around....

Hi, wow....great trade...could i ask if what is your guide/gauge in setting the initial stoploss? As in the stop loss range when you enter a trade?
Because i have been getting killed by stoplosses due to whipsaw.
thanks in advance.

In the VWB Document I think I read that if the market is range bound, Vegas placed trades in both directions.

I use ROC Daily when it is range bound and I use ROC weekly when the market is trending.

My trigger to place a trade is an 8MA changing direction.
My exits are as previously described.

The tunnel is a 55 EMA of median (h+l)/2

It still says Errors Partial upload.

I would be happy to email you a chart is you wish. just PM me with your email address.

Hi bigballer,

These three trades are from the Knife system, which is based on the Vegas 4 hour method. The PF contains a detailed tutorial which fully discloses the system. There are also several related discussion threads where subscribers can ask questions, post trades and discuss the system. Since the system is fully disclosed, you will be able to determine your own entry and exit points. So, there are no signals provided for the Knife.

However, for the VWB method, Vegas sends out signals to his subscribers. These signals are mirrored by the PF at no extra charge. Currently, I allow the PF subscribers two email addresses to receive the signals. Most subscribers provide me with a regular text email and their cell phone text messaging address.

Let me know if you have further questions.

How do you know there is air? You feel it yet you can't touch it.
Can you see it though?

It's a bit of both.

Open eyes and yes...FX ain't that easy.

It's in the mind...

The PF forum is full of many happy vegas users, not to mention vegas himself. One thing to keep in mind with the vegas 4 hour tunnel system, is that it is not a daytrading system per se. It is more of a position trading system, which on average may produce from about 4 to 15 trades per month. Stop loss levels are set by looking at recent support levels, swing high/swing lows etc. I would say that more often than not stops will be somewhere in the 50 to 70 pip range, but they can be even more or less. Setting too small a stop loss will whipsaw you to death, or even worse, poverty. The real key to success with this or any system is proper money management and position sizing. When done properly, a trade with a 20 stop loss has no more risk than a trade with an 80 stop loss.

And no, forex is not easy, but the biggest obstacle by far is in our own heads.

All the best,
Michael fxgorilla
