Here's my current research project....just look at that ADR....and usually all during the European Session...

No probs Islander, I like your thread . Ah the siren call of the Turkish Lira ADR. It would be a sad day when Islander didn't have a special 'project'! Interesting that most movement is in the EU session...just a lazy 8 pips spread on my broker, reminds of back in 2008 when GJ was around 8 pip spread . I saw a few guys mentioning USDTRY in Alien's thread a while ago but I thought you really really want to get the direction right with a spread and movement like that!

Hope the research goes well!

Those were the days with 350 to 400 pip ADRs and 200 pip HOURLY moves......

How do use your ASC Alert indicator? M5? or M15 TF. M15 seems to correlate with the day trend whereas shorter is noisy..

Morning guys...

I have been using the TVI indi for entry 5M levels...

My settings are 10,10,5 but am tempted to modify.

Any suggestions pls?

GM - as you can see from my charts, I use 10,8,4 for a sharper response.....

Typical FO move this morning - gross pips shown.....now I am long cable from mid FH, looking for a spike above yesterday's high....TWT

and it did in a wider ranged semi marubozo with increased volume, so it was rude not to pirate 15 pips, so I did

I did get that move too but missed the best exit. Anyways banked 15 pips

Well done - any WRB with increased volume is an alert to look carefully at the PA (Sonic volumes also have an alert) and especially before LO I am looking to bank those slippery pips

Yes I thought to close the trade but then got greedy as still learning to control emotions . And thanks Captain as 3 dragon system has helped me a lot

Ah, I see. I made a mental note some time back.. and had been toying with using higher defaults.

I have been studying the FO - why do you think that these hours seem particularly conducive for the method? Take for example the BB Squeeze earlier for GBJPY. Very interesting indeed...

Perhaps it has something to do with the title of this four year old thread and that I have, during these years, deveolped a methodology that is focused on trading during these hours......

And it works. Getting up that bit earlier is well worth it to get more of the Asian session. I'm now trading GMT 6:30 - around 8am & loving it.

Was on GJ this morning too but got out that bit early (as usual!) for 18p. I just can't seem to settle on an exit I'm completely happy with... WIP!

Ha, thats why like an old sea urchin I have followed you over from the excellent sonic thread. Your thinking and style stroke a chord somewhere in my dense skull. Talking of which my M1 ribbon params don't work well for sudden pull backs. My settings are 25/60 and take for example that GBJPY pull back. The trade was looking me in the mouth but the ticks were traversing the ribbon. Do you have any suggestions?

Certainly - looking at back data...

Worth a coffee at least

Strange though how the open is important as FX, derivatives etc. during the week are settled 24/7. I can understand Sunday gap opens but mid week. Hmm

Post your chart and then I can comment....

No, NOT strange when you consider the Opens & Closes of the important markets.....go to FF Home Page and LOOK at the bottom right corner.... there is a FOUR SESSION overlap around FO / LO (actually its more IF you include Shanghai & Singapore).....

Yes, as I have said before, any contract with Aud or Jpy in it is worth trading in the Australasian Session and IF it also has EU or GU in it, the European session too
