The biggest fooling for me are things like the media basically telling "everything is fine" after the Yellen speech. News have become a total joke to me. There are services like live squawk and stuff. Honestly, I did not know what to do with the news if I had them 10 days ago. The market does not react rational anyway. I will just use the news as a kind of catalyst now, the PA is the only thing that can tell me anything because they cannot hide it.

Hi Hickson,the best way to watch news is watching news one week before or two weeks before you got the actuall data. The price is allways priced in.

this week I've read some analyzes (banks, elliott wave, etc.) a no one was right that we go upwards on EURUSD all have said that we are going down.At least we reached 1.3767 now. Elliottwave.com had this week free access and they counted the EURUSD from 1.3513 as 1-2 move with a strong wave 3 down. We pupped up now 260 Pips against their analysis. And they want 479$ per month for their service. I can only laugh about that. The best way is only to trade his own system. Maybe you catch 20 Pips and that are sure 20 Pips that you have earned. I personally give a shit on news.

Well, they just want to make money with their super duper tips. It is true, thinking by oneself is always the best. When I started to trade in November, I thought hm, maybe I can press something out of the news but quickly found out that it was mostly gambling. If the chart technically points in one direction, the data can be a trigger. But why care, if you are already in the market according to your analysis. ZEW was not the best today, EUR/USD is still bullish. So whatever news.

Put two longs on GBP/USD at 1,6668, SL 1,6592. Let us see how much sterling can rise again after this retracement. Though the daily looks a bit strange ...

scroll back in my thread you can see i watched AUDUSD and posted a strong daily divergence on MACD and RSI. 2 weeks later we got some news and we popped up 400 Pips. So if you watch news two weeks before you can say what will happen @ the news. Is always the same game.

I just tried to translate it fast while watching TV (I tried to find the original text , but I couldnt) I just wanted to share this quotation which basicly tells that natural cycles or lets say trends are not made by the data released. So I totally agree with you ... And it seems that Elliot also did.

How do you filter the useful information weeks before then? I guess you will not stare at bloomberg or other stuff all day. Or do you mean just general world news?

Watch higher timeframes, search good or hard S/R Levels, divergences and watch news 2-4 weeks before. But the best analysis you get on correct charts. 99% of MT4 charts are wrong with wrong prices. And i ask you how can your fibonacci work on wrong charts ??? That is my view, and everyone can say what he want. That is really true.

Well if 99 % are wrong, how do you know your chart is right? Except you are trading on Alpari, then you know it is bullshit of course ... But I can imagine that brokers do not provide the best data ... and I already wondered about different fibos in analysis of different traders, which could explain it.
