I dont know if you guys received that email. It came from MT4 or a program from MT4 :

MT4 Remote [email protected] via appmonarch.com

We are in the process of moving the MT4 Remote domain over to a new server. You may in fact notice that this message is coming from a different domain name. (for business purposes certain apps are being consolidated to a new business structure)

This will likely take a few days and we are going to try and do most of the work over the weekend while the market is closed.

HOWEVER, there may be intermittent server issues beginning tomorrow and stretching possibly as long as tuesday of next week.

It is our goal to provide you with notification prior to anything like this happening.

ONE MORE PROBLEM HOWEVER ...

Currently we are simply sending out emails directly from our own server instead of using an email list service. This is a problem because sending this way means problems with emails being tossed into junk folders and the like.

So please head on over to:
http://bit.ly/MT4Reports

There you will see a form to give us your email address. Now clearly I don't actually "need" your email address. However what that will do is put you into a list where:
1) I can notify you of updates to MT4 Remote without worrying quite as much about my emails winding up in your junk folder

2) To give you some extra reports (no charge or anything) that will hopefully help you to be a better more profitable trader.

When you sign up, (besides the updates on MT4 Remote of course) you will ALSO get a report on the trading secrets of a trader that in just two years grew an account from 10,000 to over 3 million.

I'm also going to give you the two things I do that makes trading so easy it's almost like cheating.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT MOST FUTURE MT4 REMOTE UPDATES WILL ONLY BE SENT OUT TO PEOPLE ON THAT LIST!

It is therefore critical that you head on over to:
http://bit.ly/MT4Reports

Again, give just your email address and hit submit. You will have to confirm your email address. Once you input your email address and hit submit, the service that I'm using will send you a confirmation email.

Just click on the confirmation link and you'll be good to go.

If you have any questions at all let me know.

Because of the changes that are taking place with the MT4 Remote servers, it's important that we get as many people moved over to the new notification list as possible.

This will let us notify you of updates to MT4 Remote as well as feed you other information to help you trade better and more profitably (all of it free).

So sign up here:

They don't know your name, and they don't give their names.

They don't include a company name, address, or telephone no.

They entice you with bogus phrases like: "I'm also going to give you the two things I do that makes trading so easy it's almost like cheating."

Ticks every single box for a phishing email. Proceed at your own risk.

As a general rule of thumb, any legitimate email should include your real name at the very least. If you have done business with them in the past, they know who you are, and they will use your name as proof that the offer is coming from someone you already know. Banks, Amazon, Paypal, Ebay, forex brokers - you name it - every one of them will use your name in a legit email if you are one of their clients.
To improve is to change. To perfect, is to change often.

I got one question why did you sign up???

Look receiver email [email protected] , this is a first sign of potential scam or some sales email. Real email from metatrader will come from someone@metaquotes.net because that is there official domain...

This look like someone want to add you to there email spam list so my advice is to delete this mail and report it as spam.

Enjoy,
-ND-

Anyway, I just wanted to share to see if anyone else received that email. If its a scam, people in this forum will know

But did you ever sign up for "remote mt4" on your cell phone? Cause I had......

This is a system that you can view and trade your mt4 platform from your cell.....Now I did not read the email yet....and I might not even read it because I do not need that service any more.....but if you have signed up in the past for this service maybe it is for real.....

Got it also.

And others in the past similar to it posing as mt4remote, and our other VPSs that were also phishy.

@forexhard said it best.

The use of bit.ly shortener in any emails, or anywhere besides Twitter for that matter, should always be a Red Flag.

We use RoundCube WebMail. With the settings set to only open images from known senders, it will ask to display images from unknown senders. Not only is this an immediate red flag when the images are blank, but it also shows who the actual email is from rather than who the Sender says they are.... such as PayPal. Gmail of course does this also but I don't think they ask, "Display messages from [email protected]?" like RoundCube does. I think they just ask, "Display messages from this sender?".

Hey guys, I actually did sign up to that list (I'm an MT4 Remote user). What I found out was that the guy that owns MT4 Remote is partnering up with the guys at App Monarch. The idea was to move the MT4 Remote servers to something more stable than the way it used to be done (he was running it off of a personal machine or something like that at his work and where he is in poland the power isn't very stable).

As part of that they want to make sure that everyone is able to get updates about the software and what's going on with the servers. Anyone that uses MT4 can see that just like they said, the service has been bouncing up and down ... and in fact has been mostly not working for the last few days like they said was going to happen.

I talked to the guy at app monarch and he said the component that communicates between the app and the users terminal is being fixed and made to be a bit more stable and that's why it's been going up and down so much.

Just to verify all of this I also noticed that there was an IP address change within DNS. The IP address which did used to have an IP address in Poland now has an IP address in the states AND it's the same IP address as the appmonarch.com domain.

Basically, everything in that email is clearly on the up and up and they haven't really done any sales pressure tactics either. The only emails I've gotten are to tell me about a report or to tell me about the server.

Hope this helps :-)
