opened a new 1 day expiration trade on Haliburton for tomorrow.

I am long HAL $49.50 puts for 7c or $7 per contract. Current Haliburton underly price is $49.98

Good to see YELP down <$80 today, hopefully will continue tomorrow. I am in 2/22 $65 long puts that need a little more help. Looking at 2/7 $70 short puts for $2.40.

Would like to get in lower than that, as earnings are out 2/5

under investigation. bounce at ~$60? dive to $45. crash to $35. what goes up must come down...

options are quarterly? jump Feb - May....???

YELP <$76, watching for a dive into the close and will look to sell 2/7 or 2/14 puts under my 2/22 $65 strike if I can. Reluctant to be too high with put sells around earnings release date as YELP may have a long way to fall....

AMD got below $3.50, trading at $3.45, but I am looking for 1/31 $3.50 puts to go from $0.09 to about $0.20 to break even

Should have bought back NFLX 1/31/ $305 puts yesterday for a few cents, but will do so next week. Put sells are looking pretty good on NFLX, it has held to a 0.6% loss on a 1.8+% Nasdaq fall for the day. Might sell 2/14 $345p @ $1.87 or similarly early next week....

AMD didn't make it, will hold out for some follow through to downside on Monday & will probably take what I can get then. Too much trouble for too little gain.

Looking forward to selling some far otm NFLX puts for 2/7 or 2/14 expiry, will look for $1.50 credit or better, will need to get in Monday. Add that to running $5.75 +/- credit already in hand on the NFLX spread and I'll be feeling good about NFLX. If I could do that 10x a year for the next 5 years I'd be doing it from a beach somewhere fulltime by then.

The moral, forget about sweating over $0.20 gainers when there are bigger fish to fry...

So, FOMC Wednesday. Another slice off the QE cake she falls, not, she rallies. I'd expect ranging Mon-Tue. Plenty time to clean your muskets & check your powder.

Fed knows US economy too shaky to weather rising rates; Fed can't lower rates; Fed can jigger the bond market by other means.

UVXY picked a good day to split. Will be much easier to trade at this level. Reversion could be wicked, but no options show yet for the new strikes, not sure how long that will take....

Closed the Long put option I purchased on Thursday night for $86 per contract half way through Friday. I originally bought for $7 per contract making a 12x gain on this.

watching VIX & will consider a VXX strangle pre-FOMC. If the Fed does not announce the expected QE cuts, the markets will rally somewhat & VIX will retrace. If we get another $10bio cut we may see further market fall and VIX may rise a little more, but will fall back after that....

...may consider a Mar vert put spread like long $40p short $39p for $0.20 debit.
