You'd of thought, nope some random thread they've hijacked LOL

Setting there own up would make more sense, but then I guess they'd be accused of censoring stuff and beaming personal charts to peoples computers to always go against there trades LOL

Jason, what is FXCM's Policy when your platforms freeze up? If I was in profit in a trade and could not get out due to issues on your end I would expect to be compensated positively and if the trade is now negative to have the trade negated since I could not exit with profit?

Might of had a order, in profit, which you'd of took which when re opened was at a loss.

But the odd broker glitch is all part of the game / risk element, think of the 99.98% they work perfectly, not the 0.02% they fail.

{quote}you can tell me i'm stupid or i don't know what i'm saying and you make millions and the brokers are your best friends.. well you sound like a broker to me. trading someone else's money, you sound like a money grubbing hedge fund taking profit no matter if the customer loses or wins. that's exactly what you sound like to me. Which now makes sense why you are defending brokers.

I don't love brokers, on the contrary, I hate their guts, that is why i trade in a way that they have a very hard time screwing with my positions. I use the 4hr chart and have a 400 pip stop loss. Ive been unbelievably successful for over 4 years now(by the way i started trading late year 2000) What I feel for you actually is raw Pity! If you've not been able to grasp the concept of margin, leverage and lots relative to your account balance then you shouldn't even be trading in the first place.

Re the downtime earlier - I suspect it's something to do with a move to micro accounts, or decimalization of symbols previously integer? Since coming back up when I try to change the limit on open orders in TS2 the limit now increments (on UK100) by 0.1. Before the down time it only changed by 1.

My fellow trader had a similar problem with an MT4 demo account 3-4 weeks ago when all the trade balances were suddenly divided by 10! Not great, as the demo account was being used to demonstrate profits to potential investors. After LOADS of emails back and forth, got this reply:

"Okay, after much thought and dissection I have figured out that we have just enabled Microlots on CFD's as of the past month. We are still in the middle of rolling it out and this is why you wont see it on live servers as of now if im not mistaken. "
A bit of a left-hand/right-hand problem there I think.

Re the changed balances, got this:
"Due to the micronization we have basically made it a 1/10 of what it was. You would need to place 10x the amount in volume to get the profit line you are looking for."

No issues with FXCM as a broker at all. Great execution - I just wish changes would be communicated before they were implemented and not left for us to react and try to sort out what's going on.

My real worry (as it affects my trading strategy) is it seems the FTSE100 prices are going to be decimalized - I emailed several weeks ago asking the question but no response. Suppose I had better chase.

At the same time still trying to get my girl friend's account opened as an MT4 account (yes it needs to be a separate account if not using TS2) , despite various emails they don't seem to grasp it and tell us her demo account is ready. Not sure how we're going to deposit real funds into that but hey-ho!

And I still like FXCM as a broker. Honest!
Full-time trader and loving it!

I don't have all the details from our tech team yet, but I'm pretty sure the tech issue earlier today was not due to CFD micronization*, since even US accounts were affected.

* FXCM is planning to offer smaller trade sizes for oil and stock index CFDs, so that in the near future clients will be able to risk as little as 10 cents per point instead of the current $1 per point minimum.

Please let me know if you have any questions related to this. You mentioned being concerned about FTSE100

I believe I must write a piece on FXCM's delay yesterday, which I believe it is pathetic and I have observed some very significant issues from them. First and foremost, it was definitely FXCM's issue and not our internets as a connection via mobile, desktop and the web terminal failed to materialise please keep in mind that the mobile connection is a board band connection from the mobile company and not the wifi. All people throw up is a toll-free number when these things happen, but I must say that, a toll-free number does not solve the issue, there are no sources to observe price movements on the FXCM platform and it is not the client's responsibility to actually go and call up the dealing desk and ask for a quote every 5 seconds and have no idea how charts look like and how the technicals are shaping up to be. Basically, what I have observed is that once when I have logged onto another family member's account, one with a much smaller deposit and it logged on fine with no difficulty, but once when it went back to my bigger sized account which was running a 5 million trade, it failed to materialise and it didn't even let me logon, so my question is to everyone, if one API is having an issue all accounts are affected, this is not seen to be the issue and especially when other accounts could be logged onto. The freeze happened during Bank of Canada Rate decision, which requires a lot of questions to be asked. I am hugely dissatisfied with this as this is not something one would expect from FXCM and I have also submitted a trade inquiry. I believe FXCM should owe us a good explanation and a solution to their issue and we should not be held responsible for it at all.

Hi Jason.

I'm a bit worried because what have been happening lately.

Twice this month we have had data loss (missing candles) when the market opens. That affects trendlines, and indicators calculations. I know this issues have been fixed, but still, I see sometimes there is no evidence of gaps in some instruments, which are there in MT4 demo accounts.

Now, this morning I exported to Excel data from a monthly XAUUSD chart to create a yearly chart, and I was shocked to find out that only since 2009 data is complete.

There are 3 months missing from 2008, and every single year before 2009 has incomplete data.

Please, report this so it can be fixed as soon as possible.
