Watched the movie yesterday The wolf of wallstreet (sex and drugs, but was okey). So decided return to trading.
Just need help from traders who trade with Etoro. Ticket in is cheap from 20 $.

Please describe your experience with eToro?

I used their copy trading service. Execution and everything was OK.. no complaints. However, copy trading service really need major facelift. For me, the copytrading concept of eToro is primitive despite a strong financial backup.

So you watch a film about shady practices/bucketshops and then you want to open an account with a bucketshop

I was in a winning position on GBP/JPY doubling my small account with their 1:400 leverage. I couldn't close the trade until it was clear to them that the more they were delaying, the more I was winning. I still lost nearly half of the profit as I only managed to exist in a pullback. I kept receiving a message like: Due to high volatility we couldn't execute your order.

The second time I nearly lost half of my account because I was caught up in a wrong position with EUR/USD. They were sending me the same message... in the freaking Asian session with volatility like 2 pips/minute.

You're a scalper and you're seriously taking them into account? Good luck.

P.S. That leverage eventually ate all my account. It was then and on another occasion with FxPro (1:500) when I learned the importance of money management.

Thats what I liked in film The wolf of walstreet. This deep idea what all brokers think about customers.

Already deposit 50 $ so with 1:400 leverage I will trade 20 000 not bad for start.
Sent copy of passport and utility bill just need wait confirmation.

if you trade on Etoro 1:400 you will lose your money very fast.
why not mess about with the demo first, then decide what to do.

Calm down kidds. I believe that brokers abuse all small birds.
I dont see point stay away from Etoro. OK. So what you offer then??? Who is this GOLDEN BROKER for small < 500 $ traders?
If you can blow up 1.200 $ in minute then something is wrong with your trading style.
Dont worry about me I have JOB. Just looking for extra income.

With $500 it doesn't matter which broker you choose. Being under capitalised, over leveraged and poor money management it will be over very quickly!

I use Etoro, I think they are pretty good to start out with
spreads are fairly high but they are fixed.
would not use there charts I use mt4 for the charts.
but I would not be trading x400 it just aint worth it. I started with $200 dollars and managed to turn it into 800 within a few months,just trading small like 40 cents a pip , and slowly up to a dollar a pip. then the gbp/usd burnt me out within 1 hour because I got silly and started using x400 at 5 dollars and 10 dollars a pip.

since then I started up again with 750 dollars, and now have equity of over 3000

But I am ready to move onto mt4 live now suits my trading style better.

I would not copy anyone on Etoro, most people don't realise that they are not copying professional traders
they are just beginners like the best of us.

Hi friend, first of all I'm sorry for my english but I'm not a native speakers, I'm italian. You are right the most of the traders on etoro are not professional but I was copying only lospaccone76 and yours certified copycat with very low risk and only monthly gain of 10%. The problem wasn't the traders but it was an obsolete platform which often has technical problems. Now they are treating for a refund. I think that as broker like etoro only makes sense for the mirror and the social trading because otherwise there are many other serious broker with much lower spreads and performance platforms. Armada is one of the best with mt4 or thinkforex with Ctrader a wonderful pure ECN platform. But also Pepperstone, FXPro, Oanda...

I've used eToro and I think it is a great way for beginners to learn what exactly they are getting themselves into. I question their copy trader system though and unless you are investing in an experienced trader you will loose your money. Guaranteed.

eToro was my first introduction to Forex trading. Coming from a Stock/Bond background I new the basics of Forex. eToro did a great job of introducing my to the FX market, but now I find it a bit elementary. Looking to move on to something a bit more 'Professional'. Any suggestions?
Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing.
