Did not see much pop in WFC, JPM earnings today - wonder if that indicates the same for later financials?

Impressive V-shaped recovery on the Nas. Yet again, my new risk averse methodology becomes a very bitter pill to swallow! It would be nice to be wrong once in a while, so that all that risk management pays for itself!!!

If the Nas can go higher than y'day's high then it looks like we probably get that gap close on ES sooner rather than later.

Yes I think he is, but not sure - message him & he will prolly respond - he's just burnt out on foruming I think - I can relate.

CL options expire overnight tomorrow night evening so I imagine he's busy managing his deltas for that event. I'm doing the same, just hoping we land somewhere between 92 and 94 at 23:59 17:15 EST.

AUDNZD options ideas, downside vol too expensive, so either naked sell 10D puts, or enter a stangle

Interesting reading. You have clearly gained some good geeky trader skills somewhere. Do you trade your own account or somebody elses?

I'm not a follower of NZD or AUD but I am left wondering, why do you consider the (im)probability that the RBNZ will raise rates and not the possibility that the RBA will cut them?

Bought some UNG gas contracts for a quick scalp Fridays expiration.

long $21.50 UNG calls for 27c or $27 per contract. If it doubless or better I will close out early.

UNG is at $21.22 right now

RBA, based on OIS market pricing aren't going to be cutting rates soon, but likewise 1st 6m the RBNZ is unlikely to hike due to headlines like

*RBNZ'S MCDERMOTT SAYS NZ$ AT HISTORICALLY HIGH LEVELS
*RBNZ'S MCDERMOTT SAYS WOULD LIKE TO SEE LOWER NZ$

*RBNZ SAYS LIKELY TO BE PUTTING UP INTEREST RATES SOMETIME NEXT YEAR
*RBNZ GOV SAYS MAIN CONCERN IS THAT RATE RISES PUT UPWARD PRESSURE ON EXCHANGE RATE

that last one is key.

Ok then.

Seeing as we're talking about AUDNZD, I just took a look at the monthly NZDUSD, out of interest (it's not something I follow), because I'm pretty sure there've been shedloads of people longing AUDNZD for god knows how long now, so it's of casual interest to this gambler trader to see how the USD cross looks after so many accounts have been eviscerated, and it looks to me like it's part way through completing the right shoulder of a HnS. This has taken an awfully long time to pan out, and from memory (I'm lazy, after all) it looks similar to the topping pattern on AUDUSD before it cracked.
Based on this gambl-o-matic reading of the tea leaves, it looks like an opportune time to look at short bias trades on NZDUSD.
My next medium term conviction trade: short NZDUSD, via options, natuurlijk.

I used to love to channel trade AUD/NZD - Auld Nasty I called him - only thing in the way of riches there was the wide spread....
