Brokers Allow Long/Short same pair?

Anyone allow this? In other words its similar to hedging however not a different pair but the same one?

Technically, you can do it i.e. buy and sell the same currency pair without closing any of those orders (only if your broker allows it).

this has more to do with regulation. most brokers not regulated by the NFA or CFTC or some other USA agency I don't know about allows this. For example, Oanda would not allow this. Generally speaking, most brokers that do not accept USA clients allow this because then they do not have to comply with USA regulations.

there is one exception. if you are in the USA and want to trade the same pair in different direction, I believe you can do this with FXDD. FXDD sorts its account types by platforms, some terminals use a ticket system while others use an order system, i believe this is called.

It is hedging!

It was banned for United States brokers by the CFTC in 2009.

this was depends on your broker regulation, some of them dont allow you to hedging even scalping also not allowed

you could essentially just open 2 different accounts with the same broker however don't know if their systems will detect it.
