Does anyone know why is chart not retaining trend lines/ vertical lines, etc (including my little script that shows current spread) when I switch back and forth between time frames or different profiles ?
Ignored
I had exactly the same problem jbegic, couldn't get vertical lines to remain when switching timeframes. I ended rebuilding the template from scratch and the problem went away, so don't know what was causing it.

{quote} That's exactly what I do JPAdvisor, works well. I've got four screens and I use 3 MT4 platforms for charting (one for each screen) with 3 profiles on each and just scroll through as I scan pairs. I also setup a template for each TF with a little label in the lower right window of the chart just to make it easier to tell which TF I'm looking at as I also squeeze in the D1 and W1 on right hand side. 4th screen is my trading broker and browser etc. Also I'm still getting used to tracking multiple pairs through the profiles (I used to look at...

Great, you have a full tradestation. I currently have only one monitor but also swiched to show all tf of each pair to best follow Alien's system. Tnk for your explanations.

Does this look like is getting ready for LONG on AUDCAD? If so... For the best entry, do we wait for Green Stochastic to cross 50% on Daily, or we can enter earlier as long as the lower time frames (H4, H1, M15, M5, M1) are confirming long? {image} {image} {image}
Ignored
I think that depends on what time frame you are trading jbegic. As Alien mentioned yesterday a trend retrace/reversal starts on a lower time frame and then continues up to the higher imeframes until it breaks again.

Looking at the H4 you posted there is a big RSIOMA long divergence combined with an extended BB Squeeze. So something big was going to happen there and the RSIOMA divergence said it would probably be a long move. So any time after the first red vertical line you could take long trades on lower timeframes even though the D1 was still short at that stage because this could be the start of a D1 retrace long. So you are catching the turn earlier than if you are just trading the D1 but need to beware that it is a retrace move until, as you say above, the D1 Green stoch and RSIOMA are above the 50 level.

The second vertical H4 red line is where there is an entry on the M15 chart that I have shown. M15 had a BBSqueeze and then the ADX started expanding. So this M15 move up continues the H4 move which starts to pull up the D1 green stoch to where it is now, getting you in the trade earlier than waiting for the D1 50 level cross long.

So the way I read it is these lower time frame moves are retraces on the D1 until the D1 is above the 50 level....and then you go check the W1 to see what is happening there...

Yes the extra screens definitely do make life easier but I was still finding I was getting lost when scrolling through the profiles trying to remember what was important at that time on each pair (clearly one answer is to look at less pairs!). But the handwritten notes made life a lot easier on that front for me. I check my last note (eg M5 BBSq Long) then scan the pair and see if trade setup is ready...

You can trade the M1 for setups, but there best be a near setup on the M5 and M15 right behind the M1 going the same direction, or price will not go far for you................

Hi Alien i read you thread and try to learn. I have one question to start with for better understanding. Divergence ? you draw from top to top in upgoing trend and bottom to bottom in down trend ? also in post 98 you say it is about to go down according to 4h divergence ? I thout the turning would be direct after divergence not delayed somehow ? After your divergence on that picture it goes down a bit and then it makes a higher top no turn for a downtrend ? Please do some alien hypnosis on me or something so i will learn this systems fast Best...

Great thread you have here Alien. I have been a lurker for a year. Started following you on EYI thread and now this is my new and better home. I already used your system with very good success. Floating several hundreds of green pips now and hopefully it become a thousand next week. Now I have a question. The only problem I have is my old laptop computer cannot handle your system well. It is responding very slowly when I change timeframe or change chart window. It even froze during big news event, for example the latest ECB annoucement. I'm sure...

ntrr, do you know the specs of your current laptop? processor? ram? operating system? Before you put money into a new machine, you might as well see what you can get out of your current one (ram is a cheap upgrade to add more speed)... if it's worth it. I have a 4 year old Dell laptop myself (windows 7, 4gb ram, 2.27ghz intel processor), and I also experienced huge lag using Alien's indicators, but I found a few things that helped... 1) I uploaded a template which uses "light" (aka resource friendly) versions of most of Alien's indicators... have...

{quote} Looking at D1; Only 144 and 89 are going high and everything else is going down... I was under impression that we go based on D1 and go down the time frames? On the other hand... if this is tuning to be good setup to go long, do you wait for H4 to cross over 50%?

Yes, that would make more sense to follow the rules,
I was just trying to point out how each time frame can give you clues of a turn coming, you would still need to follow the entry rules............

You definitely see a lot more than I do

I am having a hard time finding those divergences you pointed out on my charts few times so far and I was actually looking for one today but didn't see it.
I am also struggling to find good exit strategy... What is yours or if anyone else can post chart of the entrance and exit and explanation what they think they exited at that point??

Hindsight is a wonderful thing! I had an Alien 'aha' moment a short while ago on the RSIOMA divergence and its stuck in my mind ever since. But I was familiar with divergences before that and I am actively watching for them now. They are really good when you get one on a lower time frame that turns that time frame back with the higher time frame trend. But they can suck you into countertrend trades as I have learnt the hard way....

Still working on the exits, I'm still mostly using previous levels but I'm watching the 42 89 and 144 ADX turns to see how they can help. Turning a short term trader into a longer term trader is an interesting exercise, but that's why I really like Alien's thread!

EJ M5 Delayed Stochastic divergence doing what Alien says.... but H4 is still in a BBsqueeze and H1 is mixed [Edit M15 is long]
Update: Mixed H1 and H4 meant the move only went 15 pips...ADX 89 and 144 rolled over as PA went down again
