The whole point of my line of questioning was to get a feeling for how confident they were that the EUR/USD was going down. I never got a sense of urgency, but when people say things like "hold shorts" and I'm not short...well, I need to know if there was something I did wrong.
Sorry MrMikal, no offense intended. I tend to not pay attention to the quotes like I should. I'm glad I'm not the only one long on the EURO ....for now

I took a 53 pip loss on this one but I'm not bullish yet (but getting close). It will take a close on the 4 hour bar above 1.2855 to trigger a buy signal on my charts.

I wasn't actually bullish, I was just temporarily long...I took my profit on this yesterday (wasn't going to let NFP possibly ruin a good trade) and am waiting for either a 100-150 pullback or a break above 1.2855 (like you).

Thanks for your understanding, no offense taken. Incidentally, I'm out of this for now...I think the top was reached and it's going to take a little while before we have enough momentum to break. I believe we're probably going to meander the rest of the day into next week.

I'm sure you are right that the EURO will meander and probably reverse soon but I'm trying my hardest to stick to my system and hold until it tells me otherwise. Its an auto-trade system so it will do as it needs without me telling it too

Hello everyone,

If I'm waiting for the NFP result, and we all can't guarantee the market trend will go up or down like today, so I would make 2 opposites trades for EUR/USD one is sell and other is buy with a very small risk on both so If the market goes up I will win 100+ pips and on the other side I will lose the small risk I placed in the other trade, the same works if the market goes down, this is my system in trading in a situation like today

This is a common system. It works well when you don't have a lot of requotes. As I understand it some people had issues getting out of orders today (from various brokers) due to requotes or manual execution issues.

I think its good time to sell Euro/usd now @ 128.25, with stoploss at 128.50.

Yeah, I like that strategy. It's your common straddle. You can do it in Oanda if you have a subaccount. Pretty much risk-free trading.

"gifts of the spirit" include prognostication...for arguments sake...let's say it were possible to predict the market thru prayer...would you refuse to take advantage of it rather than give up your agnosticism? yes, the love of money is the root of all evil...could it be this is why most people accept the notion that they cannot pray their way into pips? if you were capable of this, would you share the good news?
would you take this idea seriously if the trade that started this thread were instead a big winner?

What are you talking about?

You referenced this start of this thread...are you saying that you were some how "blessed" with the notion to trade short through prayer? Or that some how, your spiritual meditation led you down this path of forex righteousness?

If you're telling us that our spiritual lives and our forex lives need to be more tightly integrated, a clear and concise statement would have gone much farther than this biblical-sub-text-injected ramble.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, although I can't really quite agree with the statement either. You're making assumptions that people who make statements like "leave hope and prayers at the church" are agnostic. That is a rather broad (and quite frankly, a little offensive to those who may consider their lives inspired by God but guided through good judgement) statement. Some people don't necessarily feel the need to profess their faith by using religous rhetoric...some people tighly integrate it...I don't see a problem with either...
