Hey coders, can anyone here help simplify an indicator for me?

I'm having issues with this one being too resource heavy and slowing my charts down tremendously.

I don't need the momentum/linear regression part of this indicator... in fact, all I need is the green/red zero line to show me when the bollinger bands are inside or outside the keltner channels.

I'm hoping this mod will make this indicator lighter and usable on my platform, though I'm not sure it will help for sure.

I tried doing this myself for the last couple hours, but have no idea how to code and just ended up with nothing each time :s

I remember that some time ago I have added to one bbsqueeze-indicator, pls. try the attached and check it (on my machine it runs without problems).

Thanks fxdaytrader, but this one still runs slow on my machine.

I'm still trying to figure out how to remove coding so that all I'm left with is the squeeze on or off dots (no histogram/momentum) to see if that helps, but I'm still having no luck haha

I was hoping that someone could be of possible assistance. My trading consists of “Quantitative analysis”. I rely heavily on the utilities that have been contributed from the many generous members here at FF with coding skills. It’s very important for my trading to be able to get data from mt4 into excel. I need to display a number that meets my definition of “volatility”.
It’s pretty simple, and I thought I could use an “average range” indicator to get the result I am looking for. However when I look at the codes they’re not quite doing what I need it to do. (the way I want it to).
I need a daily result of data specific to the 30 min tf. I need to take the 30min candles for a day (48). I need the sum of the range of each of the 48 candles/ (the number of candles) 48.
If I could get this result somehow to be displayed as an object or text, I can then export it to excel.
The daily result is my main concern. It’s possible that a “rolling” equation of the result would be ok. An indicator, or a possible snippet of code might help, I can’t code but I can “slice & dice” within it. I just don’t know how to ask the question to mt4. I do solve the problem in my excel, but the extra import, sort, & extract of the 30 bar history takes up a lot of unnecessary resources to my spreadsheets, that I can avoid, if the result was somehow an object or text. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated……

I don't fully understand what you're asking, but the attached indicator will display the average range (high to low) of the last 48 M30 candles as a text object.

To install:
--- Download the .mq4 and .ex4 files to your ....(MT4)/experts/indicators folder.
--- Download the .mqh files to your ....(MT4)/experts/include folder (note: the .mq4 file will not compile correctly without these).
--- Then exit and restart MT4.

I use this number as a variable to my end of day analysis. Volatility changes from one day to the next, I also use the result as part of a "net sum" of other variables that I use for "Directional" & "Activity" analysis. I am very familiar with your indicators & utilities, I rely on several of them on a day to day basis. All the other avg. range indicators I run into give me a "daily" result. I need it specific to the range of 30 min candles...........

I apologize, I think its the sum range of Ticks per bars I'm looking for.
In the above link I posted I believe its meaning "tick volume". Sorry for any inconvenience or misunderstanding

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to get the info that's displayed in your link. You would need an indicator that performs some kind of 'market profile' analysis. Maybe another programmer can help you.

The more I examine the data in the link, the one you provided serves its purpose. Its up to me how I track, record, & analyze that result.

I re-read the article in your link, and reached a different conclusion to the one I stated previously (that a market profile indicator would be needed). I refer to the example in the section 'Volatility from the Meta-Profile'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the same total volatility figure in the example (5575) would be obtained regardless of whether 5, 15, 30 or 60 minute segments, or indeed any arbitrary time slicing was being used, because when the values are summed, the result is always going to be the number of price ticks that occurred during the day. Then the 5575 value is divided by 14, which is the number of 25 pip sections that price traverses during the course of the whole day, which will also be the same, regardless of the time slicing.

Given that MT4 provides only the tick volume from transactions processed by one (your) br0ker, we could nonetheless obtain the number of ticks during the last daily candle, and then divide this by the number of 25 (or any user-defined) pip sections in the candle's total range (high to low). Is that the value that you're seeking?

Hi guys,

I´m here to ask if someone can code a different EA for me. Or even show me an EA that does what I want. I need an EA for backtesting a manual trading system. As this trading system gives me a list of past trades, I need an EA were I can input this list of past trades to backtest it with MT4 strategy tester. So, if someone want to help, here is an hypothetical list of trades that the EA must backtest for EURUSD:

2013/01/02 00:00hs Sell
2013/01/07 12:00hs Close Sell and Buy
2013/01/08 08:00hs Close Buy and Sell
2013/01/10 04:00hs Close Sell and Buy
2013/01/15 16:00hs Close Buy and Sell

The date is on yy/mm/dd format and hour on 24h, but it can be in any format.
This list is not important, as it is something that I´m going to edit for the testing and depending on the backtest interval, it may be a list with more than one hundred trades.

Total of all 3 open trades should not go over 5% of the entire capital.

I looking for 2 different dashboards for a quick glance on how the market is trending .

SOMBODY CAN ME HELP WITH ANY IDEA HOW ITSPOSIBLE TO MAKE SOMETHING SIMMILAR!

The one is referring to is the 20 50 80 multiple TF's , it lets me know in a glance where all the stochastics are sitting.

I will find a trending example for you to look at.

The first example I found is of the ADX in multiple TF's Trending strongly........... second set of windows below have my ADX, the dashboard beside each time frame show different speeds of ADX , 7,21,42,89,144, when the dash board turns all Green Boxes, a strong trend is in place Long or Short, this is an long example.

The 2 dash boards in the chart area on top that FerruFx was asking about, show me that the 8,3,3, and 21,10,10 stochastics are all above the 50% line at the same time and most are above the 80% line also showing me a strong trend in place, these are where you want to be when you place a trade.

Just look at the Price action on all time frames..............

A simple dash board glance to tell you a trend is HOT !

Hello Guys,

I need help to create an EA that has equity trailing stop function based on the latest high of the equity, so it represents maximal equity drawdown on MT4 statements. I need this function because some EAs are winning steadily but tend to have a continuous drawdown at a certain time that includes some martingale EAs and some non-martingale trending EAs if the market is not suitable for them at that certain specific time. Thus I want to limit the loss and close all trades before their algorithm start to recover. If things are stable again, I'll turn the EAs on and change the magic numbers and start all over again.

I prefer to shut MT4 off to prevent news trades cause it's the safest way.

Hello gentlemen. I wanted to ask a question about object labels.

I am trying to visually keep track of high and lows + volatility when I run an EA in backtest.
I tried to create a label setting its style as dot above the high/low +/- the volatility.

Unfortunately it seems that the point is not really located above the high or the low of the previous candle. Instead it looks like it is placed at the opening.
Could somebody give me a hint ?

Have have to post the whole code, I cannot see if you work with open, high or low.

To take the volatility into account you could work with the atr ....
