Is it possible to earn 3% monthly consistently? Is it possible to be profitable consistently? 30% is irrelevant. It's all scalable.

very simple, you need a system that works well, when you're confident with your system. You take a big trade.

After being on this forum for a while I realised I shouldn't listen to what other people say. before I was looking what others think about different pairs, people predictions for example about movement of EUR/USD - "oh, it will go to 1.37" some one else was saying - "it will get to 1.40" - people with silly chart analysis, people talking out of their asses etc, people saying that something is impossible - everything is possible, you only need to find a way to do it. I stopped considering other people's opinions (except people from Choros). I trade the way I see it, I set my targets the way I see it. And the past showed me that 30% and more is possible, all I have to work on is to keep it constant - I don't care what others think about it - I am living my life for me, not for you

2 years ago an aquaintance of mine lost 11% of the fund he manages. His worst ever year in a 20+ year career.

He still earned significantly more in that losing year than you'll earn if you manage to compound 100 bucks at 30% per month over 4 years.

Even if you succeed, and you'll be the first person in hstory to do so, you'll still only be earning a quarter of what some guy who lost 11% one year managed to earn !

Of course, he doesnt lose money every year. One year for example he almost managed to make 30% (26% IIRC) He did quite well that year, of course not quite as well as someone who can continue compounding a $100 stake at 30% per month, but enough to get by on.

If the objective is to earn 30M in 4 years, theres a 1001 easier ways of doing it

I never wrote that it is my target.
I hope to get to 100k and will be happy with it.
I personally aim 300%-400% a year and will be happy If I make it. so far no success but I keep working on it, I keep implementing, and I know I can do it
I also have a high risk, gambling style method with sky as the limit - sooner or later it will fail, but I'll see how far I will go.

Just Got a Very good and inspirational line: Everything is Theoritically Impossible, UNTIL it is Done.

It's true that with the increasing balance we have to change our trading style and cut our risk. Also we would get our emotion in the way of investing a big proportion of huge money as easily as we can do with $100. Anyway I only hope and wish that this fantasy of mine become truth for me.

u my friend are living in a dream..u have to set yourself realistic objectives..that is hardly smart

s:- specific
m:-measurable
a:- attainable
r:-realistic
t:-timely

u need a measurement for each of those things to have a realistic goal

No he's not. 300% annually is only 11% a month compounded. I personally risk 4% a trade (on current account size) with R:R at least 1:1, probably averaging 1:1.5. So that means I only need just 2 winners above my losers a month to get 300% a year. If you can't do that then give up!

better worry about your measurements. mine are fine and took me over 2 years to get them, to test different things and to learn. over 2 years of dissapointments, losing money, sometimes losing faith in what I do, but also over 2 years of education you can't get in any school, education and experience that will pay off in the future
I also have gambling account which has no realistic measurements (100% expected profit each month, but I called it gambling- it's a fact, and know sooner and later it will fail, but my main account is managed fine)
the more I read people like you the more I am convinced I am going in right direction. and once I start earning - I will know it wasn't easy money and it took me years to get my method - I will get there, I just cannot give up, no matter what people like you say - and If I fail - I will know that at least I tried without listening to people who say it's impossible.

30% a month:yes, but consistently for 4 years: no. Why? Because the moment your $100 becomes $100,000 your trading style will definitely change due to some factors. One of the most influencial will be your mental attitude. Also fear and greed will be there and much much more. It's easy to plot the formula on your excel worksheet, but doing it on live trading will test your skill and your guts. And you will start sweating the moment yiu start seeing 5-digit red numbers on yiur screen. Thinking either to close or to ride along.. i bet most traders here would ageee. just my 1 cent

An interesting co-incidence. I figure this is do-able to this extent. I have set a target of 30%/yr per month, and figure I can usually make or exceed that amount. This, with compounding, should expand my account > 8 times in 10 yrs. That is a handsome ROI almost anywhere. I use methods I can be happy and relaxed with while doing this. Sometimes aiming too high can give you negative results.

I relate a story of hand grenade training from the US army a number of years ago. It was supposed to be that you had to throw a live grenade successfully to pass the test. This fellow actually had two tries. While they were standing in a pit. the instructor said "Okay now pull the pin and toss the grenade toward the target." The recruit was so nervous that when he pulled the pin he dropped the grenade in the pit.

The instructor hauled both of them out of the pit and flattened the guy against the ground. BOOM! Fortunately no one was hurt.

Since this was not considered a successful attempt, they had to try again..

"Now this time, when you release the pin, throw the grenade UP!. Not down, but UP!
The recruit successfully did as he was told.

However what he did was throw the grenade STRAIGHT UP.

As it descended into the pit, the instructor said "O Lord", and hauled them out of the pit just as the grenade went back in.

BOOM!

The instructor turned to the recruit and said "Congratulations, you have just passed the grenade test!"

I guess the moral of the story is higher isn't always better....

Possible is everything, but i think make 30% every single month for 4 years is very very unlikely ..
What is possible is to have good trading year, when you will have 8 profit months, 2 neutral months and 2 bad months .. thats possible .. and its up to you, how you will risk per trade, because you can make profit from such trading 73% (10% per month speed) or 587% (60% per month) .. so i would advice to you, split your problem into two parts, into trading part, im able to trade with such success ratio and at money management part .. im able to risk such money per trade??

As long as you keep the account balance increasing year after year, you are on the right path.

There's no need to make XX% each and every month. That's the average which matters.

Yes ofcourse 30% per month, is possible BUT you have to be good and ofcourse have a method to make 30% and put the time in, those who say it can't be don't don't have any of these abilitys ofcourse, simply ignore them.

BUt only at first, at $1 per pip sure, $10 starting to get scarey, but could you really keep scaling up the lot size to what $1000 per pip or $10,000 per pip ?? Account fluctuating $50,000 every few seconds, SCAREY!!

So initially yes, but you've got to back the risk off, so long term NO! sadly!!

but if you get to 50K and your still able to make $10K per month regardless of account size over that, then that would make most of us very happy.

10years and your a millionaire, if you don't spend any.
Nothing to it, but to do it!!! Stick to the plan FOOL!!!!

blablabla... you will hear histories about people who make it, and now they are millionaires and etc etc etc. The fact is nobody has ever met one of them because they do not exist

the truth is you can't beat a game where the odds are not in your favor, intraday Forex market is like playing roulette , no matter what system you use , you can't win in the long run because you have a mathematical disadvantage. Nobody can beat the spread+ commissions , and the market is random a great percentage of the time

I wish somebody have told me this 2 years ago...

You really don't know what you are talking about.

If you are soo sure that nobody can make consistent profit trading forex, what are you doing here on FF ? Just reading for fun ?

FYI, there's plenty of members here who make a living trading forex ...
