In the backtester it opened positions (I set tester=true), but not sure if it is what you wanted.
Possible that it was not enough to change some buylimit to selllimit etc.

maybe wait until Gumrai has more time to change his ea ...

yah, i talked to him again...but I don´t know when he will be able...well, i just want an ea equal to this one, but for slling, since this is only for buy.

probably it is not only change buy to sell, because it uses formulas with related orders, like if the TrailingSelLimit is triggered, he must have to create Pending sells above (step), so the formulas changes, because when buying it opens pending below (ask - step), now when selling it must be (ask + step)...
oh well, i try to change it bymyself, i tryed sometimes but cant make it working...forget the strategytester and backtest...

You coded and EA for Claudia called "Wine Bar", would it be possible to reverse the trade on this? ie when the daily pivot crosses above it triggers a short and vice verse?

Sorry, this is not currently possible. The EA was coded for Claudia according to rules that she specified here.

Just looked at the code; I could make the change easily enough.
But first, if I may ask a rude question: why would anybody want to reverse the signals of a winning strategy?
i made the yearly candle but they working offline is there any way to make them working live

Because in my testing on a practice account, there were more instances of a reversal at the daily pivot.

I am quite new to Forex, but I am very interested in learning how to program my own EA. I have been working on one EA but unfortunately I can only make it buy orders and not sell orders even though I have asked it to do both. I have searched through the code but i can not seem to figure it out. Please could someone tell me where i went wrong.

I looked at your code and one thing stuck out but I don't know if that is the problem. your slippage is very small at 3 which is really .3. Then I would say that usually mt4 will print to the journal errors on ordersend. If you don't see that then you should so some error checking. Here is an example

then look at the journal tab in strategy tester or the experts tab in terminal if you are on a live chart. FYI, the tester and 1m charts will be your best friends when tracking errors.
Is it possible to create sub window with EA? I'd like such window like indicators has, because i would like to write some text in window instead of to chart.

some things also improved (for example not only check if there are open positions at all, check if the open positions have the same magicnumber etc.), also opportunity to close trades on opposite signals added, ...

edit: to the strategy, it is moving average (ma) based, for BUY (sell vice versa):
BUY if ma 5 current candle > ma 21 current candle && ma 5 candle before < ma 21 candle before ...

Can't believe I did not see that!
to make things easier, you can change the candleshift (0: current candle, 1revious, etc.) now. This makes sense if you want to have more than one position open and candleshift is = 0 (current candle), it maybe would open many positions of the same direction then. lots per risk should also work ...

I have simpliefied the signaldetection-process, so you may play around with other things than moving average crosses for example.

look at the last function int IsBuySellSignal()

if the functions returns OP_BUY, it is a buy signal, OP_SELL is the sell-signal.
to let the programm know that there has no signal occured return 99 or something different from OP_BUY (0) or OP_SELL (1) ...

Hi all programers there!



First, I want to say that english its not my mother language, but I think we can understand each other!


Here is the deal:

I discover and trade a really profitable pattern with range bars, some Moving Averages, the Coral from THV thread, and a Retracement Finder, wich in reality is a Histogram CCI.
I want to know if anyone here can make a indicator based on the parameters.
This could lead in to a EA too, but I want a indicator because I like to trade manual, and analise other things that a EA cant obeserve!
I can’t stay in front of computer all day, and I want to be warning via alert and/or mail if the conditions are in agreement.
Because I lost many signals!

Here is the Setup I wish the indicator to alert us:
The main signal its when the CCI Histogram (6) cross above 50 for Buy and below -50 for Sell.

And when the cross happen the folowing moving averages and Coral must be in agreement, one after another without touch itselfs. I use the Standard Coral and a MA_RibbonFilled to help visualize the pattern.
Lets take a Long example, (for short the oposite)
We have a CCI Signal and the following conditions:

1- The 200 EMA above 500 EMA. (This is to identify the Long Term Trend)

2- Coral above the 200 EMA (This is to identify the Medium Term Trend)

3- 12 EMA above 22 EMA and both these EMA above Coral (This is to assure we have volatility in the current Trend)

In the Picture below you can have a better understand of what I'm saying. We have 3 signal for good wins and one for a small Loss.

Entry: 1pip above the High of the Signal Candle.

Stop: 1 pip below de Low of the Signal Candle.

Target: Go for 1:2 to 1:3 Risk/Reward.

This is a great pattern, and if we can get a Indicator to mix this rules into one signal, it would be great.

Like when we have the above conditions, the indicator signal a arrow in the chart, with audio and email allert.

Someone could help me on this.

The Indicator would not generate many signals, with even days without a signal for a single par, but the pattern is so Strong that we can follow it on many pairs. Just have to adjust the range of Range Bars.

I use with range bars now, but can be used with a 5min chart too.

For now I use the retracement finder allert to look if the conditions are in agreement, but it produce much false signals.

If its more easy can be use the signal of the retracemente_finder itself, wich is when the CCI cross Zero, instead of +/-50. With this we have to change the Retracement_Finder parameter from 6 to 8.


And for last if its more easy, can be done just with the coral and 12 and 24 EMA conditions, this will generate less false signal and let the possibilities of enter in trades that don't agree with the 200 EMA and 500 EMA conditions yet, but its so close that I usually take the trade. See the second Picture Below!
