Yen close to a 6-month low, prolly just keep going, unless some kind of riskoff mood creeps in (longshot: China/Japan territory tension)

FXY - for a stock that only trades a few hundred thous shares a day, has tradeable options...

Dec 21 94/99 long strangle @ $0.55 debit, ...meh

I don't like to trade options on cheap stocks really, but ZNGA looks like it could keep rolling higher. A Jan $3.50/$5.00 strangle is $0.07/$0.17, - $0.25 debit: just atm by the end of the year would be worth >$0.40...meh

YELP. I'm old school, I like to see bulldozers moving dirt, and somehow I can't believe things like this won't go to 0....

YELP been putting in $10+ swings every month, pretty good premium...not sure if I have a bias, will be watching...

may not get a chance to enter the AAPL trade as futures are up quite a bit, damn I didn't want to miss this one and Gold down to 1230

still thinking I might try a shot at HPQ, an earnings release pop. Last year's chart shows $3-$4 pops at each release (late Feb, May, & Aug)

looking at 11/29, an atm strike either way will be worth a little over $1.00. HPQ trading at $25.35. A $22.50/$28.50 long strangle would be $0.18/$0.13, ~$0.32 net debit.

Dec 21's might go 22/28 for 0.27/0.27, ~$0.55 net debit, with atm strikes nearterm around $1.35

If crude pushes back up to that 94.35 area I might be tempted to short futures
anyway here is what accounts look like with about 15 trading days left:
100 Jan calls (sold for $370/worth $120)
99 Jan calls (sold for $260/worth $180)
87.50 Jan puts (sold for $340 or $330/worth $190)
Still have a handful of 105 calls for each account that I should get flat on for $10 today or tomorrow(sold for $410/worth $20 now/have that GTC order in for $10)
I have 5 total $100s and $99s for every 2-3 $87.50s per account.....and at this point unless there is a sharp move up.....very sharp.....then the calls are being treated as one averaged 99.50 trade for math purposes, making this a $12 strangle (in my head)
Working at just a touch under 50% M/E Ratio
I want to write more calls....I am just trying to be patient. There isn't many sexy options for Jan left. May move to Feb, or not, might just wait it out.

what about a short strangle? writing a 28/29 call and a 21/22 put and taking in around $30....this seems like a liquid adjustable stock
the Decembers would buy you time, it looks a little toppy, but it has room to go up for sure....maybe rough to break 28. what does a 30 call and a 23 put look like to you?

not looked at Gold yet, I tend to wind down towards the end of month as these prices fluctuate quite a bit but I do have my eye on AAPL. It has already move to 525 and now falling back. I be happy if it comes back to around 521$ then I be looking to DEC 6 expiration or a little further as I think the last FOMC is next week.
APPL looks as though it will be a good long strangle. I'm looking to go 2 strikes OTM but I need the pair for around $1.70 each way

also have those 105s that will be off board soon since buying back.....so don't count them
